news flash people - $37K means shit
i bought a tgp 4 years ago for $35K and it was worth it. it was under 100K hits a day
buing a site the size of ah-me for $37K - with people like shap and pierre bidding on it - means something, and it's ain't good. think about it. |
:thumbsup :321GFY :helpme :error :1orglaugh :warning
it means you should have waited till you had 2k more! |

Eager seller and smart buyer. Plus who knows what was in the deal. You say shap was bidding on it. Did he make a firm bid? In the end he lost the deal no matter how it went.
Sounds like a bunch of sour grapes to me. |
I know someone that knows someone that would have given 'em a $100K for the sites.
|
i can give 100 things i can use $35k on instead of a tgp ;)
|
Well what things????

I still don't understand why it went so cheaply. My TGPs are nowhere near the size and power they were a couple of years ago but they still make more than $37k in a year. I'm assuming that ah-me has much better quality traffic than the typical skimming TGP so that $37k would be less than a year's revenue. If the owner was so strapped for cash, why not get a loan and use the future revenue to pay it off? That way you have your cash now, and your site in a year.

It means sleazydream.com is worth a fraction of what you think it is, time to diversify finally sleazy.

The problem with ah-me is that it seems to be banned by google. :(

I bought a site a year ago for 8k. It had a few bidders on it but nothing special. But to me, the site was worth 30k atleast. It had tens of thousands of backlinks already, a good user base, and consistent SE traffic. I knew with some tweaks to the site and new content I'd be able to bring in more cash. The site now brings in close to 4k profit. It was brining in 300 when I started. The last owner didn't know how to monetize properly and didn't know what he had, nor did other potential buyers. |

Always want to NOT be in the position of having to sell. The bitch across the street got a new job in another state and had to sell her house. She didn't wanna fuck with it, so she took the first ridiculous offer that came along and now that hurt values for the rest of us. |
If he really wanted to he probably could have gotten over $100k for it.

35k is too much for skimming tgps doing 100k :2 cents:

Sleazydream : "if the rumors are true - i wonder how smart it is to take to take over a deal that had a verbal agreement on sale with some of the largest and most loved people in tgp"
Sleazy please let me address this, the rumors are not true, I do not believe anyone had a verbal agreement to sell at a 'set price' before us. Shaps own words "I tell him to not sell without contacting me first and I'll match any offer. Pierre obviously had his own conversation where he expressed his interest" Does this sound like a solid concreate written in stone verbal agreement for a "set price"??? Some people might like to take there time and sell a site slowly and contact all parties to secure the highest bid. But the fact is money talks sometimes and we had it ready to send in Epassporte and we organized the deal with Crysty for hours before finalizing the deal. Crysty wanted the money fast and we could provide that service. We were also the highest bidders for hours and certainly did not just "snipe" this off someone else. That does not screw anyone over in my book and I'm sorry some people feel annoyed that they were promised an ability to bid and didn't get that ability. Sleazy I hope we can continue trading with your excellant site Sleazydream.com. Was great meeting you in Manilla last December hope to catch up again sometime. Wildcash will soon be buying large amounts of paid spots in bulk and I look forward to hopefully buying some paid spots on some of your sites also. Wish you all the best and have a great weekend :thumbsup |

We had a verbal agreement for a set price as well and just before paying another bidder came out with a higher price so we lost that price and that agreement and had to bid higher or loose the deal. Personally that made sense to me as knowing how people are in this industry a verbal agreement is usually only good until a higher bidder comes along from another person. Securing the purchase with money down is usually a different story and usually secures the deal. Anyways I'm sorry it went down the way it did and that Pierre lost out on the deal that way that was promised to him. Wish you & Pierre all the best going forward and hope we can leave this all in the past. Cheers Matt |
