Barcelona is a wonderful city, only had 5 days there but loved every second. There are a ton of hot chicks, and a great fun vibe in the city.
I definately want to get back and spend more quality there! |

I lived there for a while and its still one of my favourite towns in the world.
Real estate prices are getting crzy though. |
Here we go, some memories of Barcelona from a few years ago:
- Spanish cuisine must be among the worst in the world. Nowhere close to classic Italian, Chinese, French, Indian or even Turkish dining. Does Spain have any culinary history at all? Each dish appears to be full of fat and lacking taste and nutrients. Horrible. - Spanish people tend to be lazy. Stores shut down in the afternoon. If you want to buy something at 2pm you're fucked. - Prices: Do not expect anything cheap here. Thanks to tourism they got people paying premiums on everything. I remember I went to some club on a Sat night and they charged overpriced cover fees without offering anythign "special" such as a bunch of DJs or anything. Of course the cover gets you no liquor, not a single drink. Those started at 20 Euro for Vodka/Red Bull. Lots of chubby chicks being chased by skinny spanish boys with mullet hair cuts. You end up paying 100-150 Euro for nothing. Garbage DJ, garbage interior atmosphere, ultra packed club. At least they had AC. - I am not sure how much this applies to Barcelona, but I hear areas such as Malaga and some islands such as Mallorca are infested with wealthy foreigners. Russians, Germans, British. Before you move anywhere, make sure you check out what type of scum occupies the surrounding neighbourhood. |
Barcelona is a very nice place to live...A bit too hot in the summer but still very nice.
About apartments, take a look here: http://www.loquo.com/english/cat/312 In english and with pictures... |
I'd love to live there.. how's the weather in the winter??

You can start looking for a place to rent at Loquo(com)
The most expensive area is El Borne but its where all is happening hash, E's, bars, partys and afters...... You can get a nice decent flat at El raval (crossing El Borne) and also in L'Eixample (mid town) for about 1000 (unfurnished but expenses included). If you are already in town, please get a spanish dictionary and check out a flats newspaper called "PRIMERAMÁ" is out every monday. Great deals over there....:thumbsup |

You obviously have not checked out prices on P.D.G. near Diagonal. El Borne is where you go to puke on the street, smoke weed, and watch the crack heads cough up black goop from the bottom of their souls. |
I visited Marbella in 1998 and havn't left since. It's by far one of the best places to live. 320 days of sunshine, excellent food, hot girls, luxury surroundings.:thumbsup
