Make sure you've got some kind of counter to track the traffic.

StatCounter provide a brilliant, free and invisible counter to track traffic for you.

Add some blog directories for more traffic.
Change that default Wordpress theme if possible.

Whats wrong with server stats???

I would change the default theme, other then that it looks ok. I am a fan of the one big picture under a few paragrahs of text.

Nothing - if you know how to use them and don't need the impartial nature of a third-party to proove your traffic.

I use statcounter as well as Server stats on all my sites, My server stats are 100% accurate where as my counter stats do not log all traffic.

Maybe not, but they do provide an obvious impartiality that server stats cannot provide - which is useful if you are looking to sell your site, or sell advertising on it etc.

I completly agree, though if I was buying a paid spot I would be going off Server stats not counter stats.

Good start. If you aren't going to change the template, at least get a custom header though. :2 cents:

Thanks for all the suggestions. I do want a different header, but kind of like the clean wordpress layout.

You can still keep it clean, just spice it up a bit so it's not so generic.

In the next day ot two the blog will be getting a new header.
