I am very very proud of this. READ READ READ. :)

My son?s parent/teacher conference was held yesterday. He is in Kindergarten. They rank them in each area on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest. My son scored a 10 in every single category. In some categories he would have scored even higher if it was possible to rank him higher. His reading is at the third grade level (I don?t remember learning to read in Kindergarten). The teacher says she can tell we started reading to him long ago. I am so proud I had to tell the internet. :)

ssp 06-08-2006 07:30 AM

The internet says congratulations.

Ben.Z 06-08-2006 07:31 AM

That's much to be proud of, congrats to you... and HIM! :thumbsup

Mr.Right - Banned For Life 06-08-2006 07:33 AM

Congrats Donny, that is great to hear, you have a great kid there.

rants 06-08-2006 07:35 AM

Congrats...

I was smart too, when I was in high school I had AP classes, that's for the super smart kids, I also got a 4 on my AP Exam, while my school valedictorian only got a 3 but whatever, she still went to Ivy League, I think it was Stanford.

I still beat her anyways!

Donny 06-08-2006 07:39 AM

He's taking after daddy.

Rants, I too took AP classes. Then went on to major in Computer Science. Then said to myself "Porn is much more fun and pays a lot more than this" and haven't looked back. :)

Donny 06-08-2006 07:40 AM

Thanks to all who have sent congrats. :)

Rochard 06-08-2006 07:41 AM

Stallion 06-08-2006 07:52 AM

congrats!!

Sarah_Jayne 06-08-2006 07:56 AM

keep up his joy of learning..it will get harder as peer pressure kicks in but as long as you teach him there is nothing at all wrong with being smart he is half way on his way.

And do put him in gifted classes if you get the chance. I was in them at times and I know that when I wasn't I actually did worse in school than when I was.

gooddomains 06-08-2006 07:56 AM

doing a good job

ne0 06-08-2006 07:57 AM

tell the teacher he reads GFY :)
congrats hehe

Tom_PM 06-08-2006 08:00 AM

Thats great, congrats :) I started kindergarten when I was 4 and still lived in California. I guess that's pretty early. I excelled at nap time, snack time, and play time.

Exactly!

This is the main reason I pay her MUCH more than I legally have to pay her so that she can spend a lot of time with him instead of having to find a job. Reports like this show that it's working and make it even easier to put that next deposit into her account.

pussyluver 06-08-2006 08:04 AM

This is GFY!!!! So many kind words to the proud daddies! No nasty remarks. What have we come to? What would Trey, Aaron or Sleazy say back when they were harsh?

Jill_J 06-08-2006 08:05 AM

You have reasons to be proud of your son! Congratulations:thumbsup

I about fell off my chair on that one. I see the logic, but.... Very few guys would take that point of view. I'd find some way to make sure it went to the benefit of my child directly.

Speechless..

I think that actually working depends on the parent involved. Would she spend the money on herself - clothes, drugs, you've heard the stories. Or take better care of the child.

VicJay 06-08-2006 08:12 AM

Congrats :thumbsup

She's a good mom. Of course it benefits my child. Even buying clothes for my ex (which I do) benefits my child. Why? Because if she had to work to purchase her own clothes it would take away time from him. The two of us may not agree on many things, but we agree on how to raise him. For example, we don't raise our voice to him and don't spank him. Doing those things teaches that violence is the way to deal with disagreements. We also don't use words like "Because I said so". Why? How would you react if you had a boss who said that to YOU? Children are people too, with the same emotions as adults. We talk to him and reason with him just as we'd expect to be treated by others. And it works.

Uh oh... here I go getting started on my parenting ideas... sometimes I can't stop. There are so many clueless parents out there...

Whether she needs money for my son or for herself, she comes to me. As I said in my last post, it's okay to need money for herself. Having to work takes time away from my son. I support her and pay all her bills.

Funny story:

Belinda and I were talking one day. One of the topics of conversation was having children together. I was going to tell her, "You know what happens if we have kids together, right? You and Wendy will forever be connected because your children will be siblings." But she interrupted me half way through my conversation. Here's how it went instead:

Donny: "You know what happens if we have kids together, right?"

Belinda: "Yeah! I never have to work another day in my life!"

:)

He is such a sweet boy and so honest. He likes to tell donny how unhealty he is and when Donny shaved his head his son told him he didn't like it cause he has to many bumps on his head. What amazes me most about him is how good he is at math! I hated math and i know i didn't know as much as he does about it in kindergarten. He can add numbers together without really thinking about them. He is amazing and donny is very very proud :) Good job donny, you deserve the best. I love being part of his and your life and love that I get to see him grow.

reynold 06-08-2006 09:46 PM

?Are you eating healthy today, dad??

?Yeah.?

?Do you like eating healthy??

?Not really. I like hot dogs most.?

?Yeah, and you eat a LOT of them.?

?I love taking you to lunch. Someday you?ll have a little boy that you can take to lunch too.?

?Yep. And if you eat healthy you?ll get to meet him.?

Disclaimer: the word ?healthy?, at this time, is pronounced ?HELL FEE?

High Plains Drifter 06-08-2006 09:54 PM

My son had his last day of kindergarten today. He was a regular little whiz kid also, and I picked him up a motorcycle a couple of days ago to celebrate (vid).
