You can find people to crash with. If you are just going somewhere for a couple days, you can "crash on their couch". When I was going cross country I found that site and met up with this REALLY COOL chick. I ended up just passing through, didnt need the couch but was pretty cool anyhow :) She showed me around St. Louis.

You know, there are some really cool people out there on the internet. And networking and making friends is what they have to offer.

The people on there are "vouched for" with testimonials. You see pictures and you have a convo before you plan on lending your couch or crashing on one. I would let someone crash and show them around Vegas if they were cool people.

good way for travellers, but as for me it's pretty risky way.
