MGP owners and sponsors with FHG's - read this now.
I suggest you give yahoo's copyright office a call .. Yahoo's new video service is raping you, and if they arent yet , they will be..
They are using your trademarked names to promote videos from other sites and giving false impressions of where the video are from.. http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?ei...&vback=Results * links may not work if you have filter on in yahoo notice the image says the video will be played from androgynos.com when infact the video is played from adult.com in this example http://video.yahoo.com/video/group?g...9b&fr=&p=shemp the videos are scraped from "shemp" but no credit is given , not even a complete domain name of the original site the videos were scraped from . but not to worry , you can simply add watermarks or change the videos location.. NOT http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?ei...&vback=Results They will simply copy the videos from archive.org |
Sorry! We found no results for your search..thanks for the heads up though
|
add on to that the fact they allow surfers to upload and collect all the porn videos into special "channels" that they can then share or review at a later date.. if they didnt fill it with stolen , ripped and misrepresented content to get their service off the ground it would be a very usefull toool
p.s. here yahoo's number Yahoo!'s Agent for Notice of claims of copyright or other intellectual property infringement can be reached as follows: By mail: Copyright Agent c/o Yahoo! Inc. 701 First Avenue Sunnyvale, CA 94089 By phone: (408) 349-5080 By fax: (408) 349-7821 By email: [email protected] |

the first one isn't working for me either, and the safe search is off

Please post in super sized fonts that this really hurts IE users and that FF users need to smarten up and test things with the most used browser.

heh i always forget until 3 posts in to double check shit in firefox ( the awesome browser that nothing seems to ever work properly in LOL ) I bet if you took all of my posts that i have made links in and polled the most common response it is ( hm m doesnt work in firefox LOL ) ATTENTION PEOPLE THE LINKS MIGHT NOT WORK IN FIREFOX OR IF YOU HAVE FILTERS ON |
ill give cliffnotes for those who cant see anything..
in the first example you see this image on yahoo http://re2.mm-so.yimg.com/image/1705837303 but the link is to http://tourvideo.adult.com/trailers/1161hi.wmv in the second example the video are all ripped from the shemp , but not one link is given to the site itself or even a proper domain format i.e. yoursite.com it just shows YOURSITE but doesnt specify .net or .com etc so they are using your trademarked names to promote videos from other sites ( basically recreating your entire mgp without any ads -for now - ) the third example is rather self explanatory , the video is from a diff site that archive.org has archived. so its an old copy of the video, so if your site was gone and removed and you changed domains , they will still have all your videos |
I'll be giving them a call in the morning

I agree this is fucked up!
We gave a lot of free content away to entice surfers to visit our sites --- it worked because it was a pain in the ass for anyone to collect it ALL --- until *now*. I think the search engines are really overstepping here. Wasn't there a legal test case about this a few years ago? About linking to the meat of a site's content, and bypassing advertisements and age checks? I seem to remember Microsoft was in the middle of it? I don't know if anything can be done now, but this is hurting our business, and we need to collectively step forward and make our position heard before it gets worse. Steve Lightspeed |
in that first example the pic is actually superimposed with text over it saying its from a diff site than it really is
|
now now smokey, you know I don't use firefox
I am in IE and that first link doesn't work, with the filter off thanks for the cliff notes though :) |

for this http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?ei...&vback=Results if you cant see it basically its one of your videos , but it claims the video is from a completely different site , even though the link CLEARLY leads to lightspeedgirls.com |

the more I take this in the more I realize just how serious it is....what can someone that can't hire a team of lawyers to go up against yahoo do? DMCA notice or something?
|
From what I see it's mostly 15-20 second webmasters clips and some trailers that are comming up in searches... why fight it? use it as a tool to make money... make sure your free content is watermarked and your trailers clearly state the site name and url. This is basically free advertising for paysite owners, the people who are getting shafted are the advertisers on b/w but they can simply redirect this traffic and make some money off it.

That's crazy shit. There are a TON of videos on there.... I don't like it a bit. I don't own a program like some of you guys here, but it sure would make things a hell of a lot harder on me as far as gallery building if people can just go on Yahoo :(
