Who saw the new Omen movie?

The first one was the hit of the summer way back when. I'm wondering how can they top it.

Ivana Fukalot 06-07-2006 05:00 AM

I am going to the cinema tonight.

brucebruce 06-07-2006 05:40 AM

i seen it last night, no where near as good as original. Within the first 15-20 min of watching I already knew. Not as scary as original, the actors that played in it didn't do anything for me either. save some mony and rent the original!!!

J. Falcon 06-07-2006 05:45 AM

The original was a great movie. I may get bashed for this, but I still it's better than the exorcist.

nancycash(dot)com 06-07-2006 06:53 AM

i'm going to see it on DVD but i think it'll be not very interesting.

Satisfaction 06-07-2006 06:56 AM

wasnt anything special

E$_manager 06-07-2006 06:57 AM

i' like to see. I saw recently DaVinci's Code - will not tell you aof my ideas - you are all too tired of discussing that movie. ;)
I remember the old movie - Omen. THat was interesting.

Jill_J 06-07-2006 07:33 AM

haven't watched it yet...

LittleSassy 06-07-2006 08:29 AM

planning to watch it this weekend...i agre on the remake though. The original would always be the best

Mr. Romance 06-07-2006 08:30 AM

it was the last scary movie that i watched, i just cant pay to be scared...

Mr. Romance

nico-t 06-07-2006 09:08 AM

im not really into those type of movies (exorcist, omen), overall theyre boring and annoying, partly due to the religious blabla in it.

Manowar 06-07-2006 09:10 AM

i went and saw it, didnt do much for me

The original was a classic, thus, I refuse to see this tripe. It's the exact same story set in present day. The script was hardly changed. Why bother?
It's like when Gus Van Sant remade Psycho, shot for shot - thanks dick, but you're no Hitchcock.
Or maybe more appropriately, both of those instances are kind of like if Leroy Neiman were to repaint the Mona Lisa...

SweetJeanette 06-07-2006 09:35 AM

I haven't seen it yet, and I'v been hearing a lot of mixed reviews...but I want to see it eventually anyways.

Fetish 06-07-2006 09:45 AM

The previews do not look too good

axelcat 06-07-2006 09:51 AM

I will catch it this weekend

See No Evil

This year has seen a lot of lackluster flops and this film was just next in line. It is boring and uninspired and just plods along. You really just don't care what happens next. The pace is irratic and the performances (or lack there-of) might just cause these actors to take a pay cut on their next project. The pouty mouthed little kid looked more like he'd been scolded for peeing in his pants than he looked like the devils child or the anti-Christ. He was hardly scary and if I recall correctly he had two lines in the entire film. "Did I scare you mommy?" and "Don't do it Daddy!"

The only thing I found remotely engaging is the brief few minutes toward the beginning of the film where a priest is trying to explain to the Pope how recent historical events relate to the seven horses of the Apocalypse and Armegeddon. Yes... it was a stretch, but not so much that I couldn't go along with it for the fun of the film. After that, however, the film falls flat and never again am I intrigued or intersted.

Oh... and there's probably nothing that I find more insulting in a film than the cheap shot scare tactics like having a very loud noise happen for no reason except to make you jump. When a film has to rely on something like that to scare you you know your in trouble. The film has no build up, no climax, and was completely predictable (except for those cheap shot audio blasts) and not only do I recommend you stay far far away from the theater for this one, I don't even recommend you see it on DVD. Yeah... it's THAT bad.

This film is little more than a marketing gimmik.

Anyway I want to see it. I loved the old one, but can't remember anything from it's script, so the new Omen will be almost new for me. :)

sweetgirl2006 06-07-2006 03:41 PM

I haven't seen it yet, but heard great reviews on it.

E$_manager 06-08-2006 07:40 AM
