well she is not one anymore, but sweetums was excellent, was always their to help.

Simply answering emails is a good start. So many sponsors don't do this basic thing these days (mentioning no names, *cough* HotMovies *cough*).

Beyond that, being cute and flirty always helps =)

I'm wondering this myself -- what tools are used? what is some of the thinking that goes on? that sort of stuff -- I'm new to this whole world, but I've been making sites for 11 years -- I just launched my first affiliate site

someone who can take lots of pics of having their ass grabbed by men and be known as a cool guy,damn how many sales they can bring in..we need coolness!

I have affiliate managers tell me all the time they will do whatever get me what I need before i signup, then I signup and they never respond or will they even do 10 seconds of work.... So much business lost on their end it's not funny... The most of them definately don't do nothing for new webmasters who maybe testing them out... I test test test, and look stupid sometimes just to see what's going on... Good way to see if your sponsor is worth your time :)

One thing I really hate is being ignored....

They don't bother me with anything and answer when I need help.

Organization, remebering the important dates, attention to detail and the ability to check and answer emails while fielding 10 ICQs, 4 YIMs all with the phone ringing off the hook in the background.. Don't laugh it has happened to me! OH and excellent ppl skills!
