If you match the right sponsors with the right traffic you won't have to worry about joins, just concentrate on the traffic part and the joins will follow.

to a sponsor you will get affiliates that send 1/10
and others that will do 1/60,000

so it really comes down to the money.

It's all about the money really. Traffic = joins? Not really. Simple answer is that Chinese traffic is not going to get you anywhere. The quality of traffic is key as much as the actual number. SE vs exit page etc.

Even the SE traffic has a Q factor to it. What was the keyword or phase. Transgendered dating may earn you more joins than say dating.

I have found a simple change in banner used can affect traffic and conversions.

It's about value per click with a known quantity of traffic for a measure of time period such as a quarter. Or maybe it's not at all lol.
