Dreamhost set a connection limit on my site,WTF!
Message from support.
Hello, I?m writing to let you know that your site (***.com) has had a lot of traffic on it recently and has been causing our webserver to crash, In the effort to make the server more reliable for other customers on it I have set a connection limit on your site to allow (50) per (5) seconds. This is the best solution for allowing your site to continue to run and making the webserver more stable. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks! Javier With (50) per (5) seconds,How can I do my works? Now,lots of my domain is unaccessable, any one frome DH give me a reply???? |

At least they didnt delete all your content, like they did with me. Get a dedicated server.

if you're doing that much, it's probably time to get a dedicated server. if your site was affecting other customers i'd have to say they handled it pretty well then.
|
They do that with EVERYONE that's why they can charge you $30 a year =)) There are limits set on everything you get from them

small claims court will win $5,000 or jurisdictional limit on fraud

That's why they are a cheap host, they overload their servers. Upgrade to a real host and you won't have those problems :) Dreamhost is ok for low traffic sites, but most adult customers get frustrated there.
