shopping for a new laptop -- a question
OK, before you say it, I know I'm a dumbass. I last owned a latop 18 months ago, or thereabouts. The processor was about 3. I'm looking at laptops now and everything is dual core -- 1.62, 1.74, 1.83.
This is my question: is it two chips in the one laptop? So, even though 1.83, for example, seems awefully slow, it is infact equivalent to a 3.66 chip? |
This is the one I'm considering : http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/776538

whatever you do, get one with an ATI graphics card.
I do not know why I said that, but I just had to do it. |

I just copped one...really depends on what you need from it. My Compaq is somewhat low-end at $850.

I can recommend you the brands I trust: Toshiba (I have one) and Sony (my friends have some Vaios). Forget about Dell, Acer, HP and the like

Cheers for the advice folks. I'm going to be using the laptop to keep tabs on biz while i do a bit of travelling. Is the one I listed above fairly decent, you think?
