Domain names or hosting package?

I'm not sure about domain names as I get most of mine through PairNic but I had their hosting for a mainstream venture and other than the painfully slow loading pages, they were decent. Their CPanel is standard for most hosting companies. It's more for the newbie though. :2 cents:

So domain name purchasing I'm not too sure about but their hosting is good if you have a basic site but the server response and page loads are HORRIBLY SLOW!!!

There's my 2 cents and I hope it helps. Buy your domains from a company that has a reputation, a good reputation so you don't have to make threads like this here.

Oh, and if you decide to host an adult domain on Ipowerweb then good luck! They are pretty stern when it comes to that. I had a picture of Jessica Simpson's nipple slip and received a "warning email" for derogatory content. It was only the areloi...not the nipple!!!

real bad then real good lol...i'll explain, i figured it was a BS scam 2.99 for .coms but i regged 2 one day i didn't really need but was thinking of and they never went out of the pool and were still available for a few days and i got in contact with ipower, and they did fix it, but only got one name and billed for 2...still less than 8.99 for 1 even at 5 bucks...so i decided to try again anyway...and since have used them a few times with no problems they get the name fast and it's only 2.99....i only buy stuff there that i just find interesting tho and might want, if i know a great domain is available i use another place, just to be safe, as they reg the name from another company...ps they will renue the domain after a year for the normal 8.99

Ipower was so-so... I used them for awhile and the service was terrible. They would take days to register domains I had purchased, they would give me the wrong passowrds to log in and access my dns settings... The final straw was when I had purchased some domains with my epassporte virtual visa and they sent me an email stating that they had put the purchase on hold until I faxed them a copy of the credit card.

I spent far too much time going from person to person in their billing department trying to explain epassporte and why there is no card to fax them. They never did anything about it. I ended up writing them a scathing letter, and that was the last I heard from them for about a month. Then I got a call from a new account rep they had assigned me who knew nothing of my past experiences with them. I explained everything and he said he'd look into it for me.

Sure enough I get a call back an hour later, he went and learned about epassporte and spoke with the billing department and got everything straightened out and now everything works just fine.

If you do decide to do anything with Ipower, you want to deal directly with this rep, his name is Maurice and his email is [email protected] and he's at extension x6837.

He's the only person to deal with over there. I had completely given up on Ipower before this guy called me.
