TexasDreams (or other mods) PLEASE come in...

Dear GFY,

You've always been good to me. I have no squabbles with you or GFY at all.

But is there any chance you can find a way to kill these sig-whoring contest threads WITHOUT upping the post-by-post to 60 seconds?? It's kinda making things difficult. As someone who never touches a contest thread, I can say in complete honesty that the people who DO sigwhore shouldn't be allowed to complicate things for everyone else.

Isn't there another way? If they keep putting up threads that aren't even LEGAL, shouldn't they be banned? At least for a while? Will this 60-second thing be permanent? If not, when will it be lifted?

Is there anything anyone can do?

Are you saying you're sick of all the contest threads? If so, I agree with you. Right now, I count 10 contest threads on the first page. About a year or two ago, all you would see is maybe 2 - 3 contest threads on the main page at any one time. Then as time passed, you'd see 5 - 7 contest threads. Now at any one time, there are 8 - 10+ contest threads on the main page. I understand the sheep love them and they're good for advertisers, but as a regular surfer of this board and actual webmaster, I find them irritating.

It would be nice if there was some kind of way to put a thread on "ignore" so that one would not have to see it.

If you actually click threads and browse through them before replying the 60 secs isnt even a prob.
