Yeah a change to the bether. Gold sites was really time consuming if you where to get them accepted by the old rules. the fact that they got 8 MILLION members is insane

jesus fucking christ... the biggest avs in the world and they lose money? that kinda sums it up for the adult business - the ones who started in 1995 were simply lucky, not clever :1orglaugh

Where's it say they're losing money? I've read it twice now and didn't see it anywhere.

I highly doubt they are losing money, however with the new rules they adopted months ago, I am sure they lost a lot of webmasters, and a lot of listings stopped coming. No matter what thats not a good thing for them. This is just going back to the old ways which were proven to work.

Be happy, it means we can all start making more money with them again.

now, try this for a size - why the hell are they changing their rules so drastically if they are NOT losing money? hmmmm? for fun? for the sake of their webmasters? come on...

you don't change it until it works. you only tweak it. and this is definitely more like a U-turn :1orglaugh

anyway, i don't do AVS sites. i tried once, made a gold site with 1,500 pics, videos and live feeds (paid ones) and it got rejected because "my logo was not a graphic". i tried to explain the stupid reviewer that this had something to do with the "scent" of my site (it was voyeur/ amateur one) but he was more stubborn than an average donkey. so, i just dimped the whole idea and made a paysite :1orglaugh

now, if they think that they can "summon back" all the webmasters that ran away because of their insane policies, they must be nuts.

Slowing growth, poor rebills, trying to increase customer satisfaction....there's many other reasons than that they're losing money. I have no doubt in my mind that Adult Check is currently making a hefty profit.

For those of you who think AdultChedk is losing money, well that's just laughable :1orglaugh

As shooter pointed out, this is just their damage control, maybe a little late, but at least they are trying. They are like that commerical that used to run years ago, they are a big corperate dinosaur of the Adult/AVS world. They have a huge company that is fat and slow to change, and for years now the new AVS's have been eating away at their webmaster base with the simple non-spoken pitch "We won't hassle you about your sites like Adultcheck does", and lots of webmasters have been taking their sites to these new AVS's just to avoid "dealing" with Adultcheck's rediculous site standards that many of us for years have known actually hurt sales.

I've always said my best site that makes me 1000's a day took an hour to make and is really dog ugly, and the site I spent a week on, rivals any paysite out there in design quality made me maybe $50 over the last 3 years. I have found the things that help AVS sales are:

#1 Site title and the niche
#2 Good Sample pictures
#3 Good pitch on the site/ and the benefits of joining an AVS
#4 A clean fast loading design that is easy to navigate.

And the next thing AC will realize is that updating sites doesn't make that big of a difference either. To push your rebills up, AVS sites need to:

#1 Get the surfer to the AVS's Linklist so they see all the sites they have accesss to.
#2 Pictures need to be good quality, 640x480 minimum, not overcompressed.
#3 Pictures need to match the sites title so the surfer gets the pics he thinks he signed up for.

But that's just my opinion, what do I know :thumbsup

Couldn't agree more. It seems the only people who actually thought this unique design shit (when in fact it meant all sites ended up looking the same) was a good idea were the AC management and the anal assholes who tend to frequent the AC BB's. It seems AC was daft enough to listen to this very vocal minority who make few $'s but a lot of noise.

Surely the fact that surfers want high quality, easy to find porn and a shit load of it (and free but fuck giving them that) is just common sense? What guy with their dick in their hand looking at a PC screen gives a fuck about design? Now to start making some good $'s with Golds again.... :)

Well we were just about to leave the shit heads yesterday.
Hopefully this helps so we dont need the fucking review team on our backs cause they dont like the colour we have chosen or some shit like that.

Or as a reviewer wrote "please change the border from dark blue to black" when the border was infack black to begin with!
