What do you have to do to test drive one? I have a feeling if I go to the porsche dealer, they won't let me even get in the 911 turbo because on only 20. Same goes for a Ferrari.

Really depends on who you you're talking to and how they feel that day. Be a serious buyer and you'll usually get a lot, even if you're just window shopping.

I'm older than you. (25) but when I went to the Jaguar dealer, they took me very serious....(and I had an old car as well)

Their insurance probably won't cover you at 20 maybe.

If you have the money to buy a Porsche or Ferrari just bring in a bank statement.

1st thing I would do is walk up in there acting so so poor....Then get the dealers attention when you pull out 150k out a bag and say you want the sale then suck my diznick biatch!!!!!! I remember when I went to buy my Aston Martin V8 Vantage Series 1 (THE BEST) the old guy looked at me as if I was a bum cause I was super stoned and went in with my track suite..He refused to speak with me until I went to my car and pulled out 100k in cash and said can we strike a deal..Allthough the car is used I paid the biznitch 64k and what a steal that was...Now I have hoes and homies looking at me as if I was MJ however i am still the same f u k i n g kid from the block.....I must been stopped at least 10 x since 2003 what a crock of cop doo...Good luck homie on your buy!!

Best thing to do would be to call ahead and talk to a salesperson. Explain to him that you are young but you have enough money to pay for the vehicle if you want it.

That way he/she will know you are serious and you will know right away if they will allow you to test drive one of their vehicles.

Learn from me, Dont pay something overly nice at that age.. Too many haters, especially if you look young.. People want nothing more then to run a key across that fresh paint assuming daddy bought it for you.

If you want to buy a Porsche or a Ferrari, don't dare to ask how much the price is. That's sounds tacky and nobody with money to buy those cars would ask for such thing.

Sometimes it's good being an old chick. I've never had a problem test driving anything. And usually they'll just hand me the keys and tell me to have it back in an hour. Several places will let you keep it overnight too.

I recently test drove a Mercedes (did NOT buy it - what an overpriced car they call an SUV) and I grew up in the area where the dealership is. The sales guys was freaking out when I was taking him down all kinds of back roads. I promised to get him back to the dealership, and I did :)

Best ways are to call a private party ad on a used one or hit LA, Vegas or Miami where you can rent exotics.

The last time I was looking at some rather expensive cars, just browsing/looking, I couldnhahaha8217;t get rid of the sales men. I guess they really wanted to make a sale; they didnhahaha8217;t :)

Yeah I love the less seen exotics, but the new Turbos are supposed to be awesome. I'm sure they will release a Turbo S, so I'd probably wait for that and the newer clutch. I live in Michigan, so when it's time to get one, it'll probably be a car that can take less than perfect weather. The new Turbo's are AWD and can handle any type of weather and they are meant to. Not that I'll be throwin snow at it, but Michigan weather is crazy. The price is a big turn on too. Much less than similar performing Lambo, Ferrari, etc.

As much as I love the Aston, Jaguar is kind of ruining it. They are pushing out cars that are too similar looking.

I also like the Ford GT. Saw one in Swizterland earlier this month and couldn't take my eye off it.

My neighbor has one, saw them on the internet a bunch and was like WTF, but seeing them in person it is really starting to grow on me.

Porsche Turbo is something very hard to just walk in and pickup, already a waiting list in many places just for the new one, you can pickup the older ones now but will still pay a decent penny.

True, and it is also the first year of the new model, but I did see a few dealers with one each. Online inventory prices were normal, but probably innaccurate. They seem rather cheap on ebay for older ones. Well under the going rate of the new turbo for 03-04 turbo and GT2/3 models.

Ask your neighbor the mpg on that Ford GT :winkwink: It is it's only downside imo.

Watch Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson has had a GT for a a year and it's always in for service cause it keeps breaking down

I have been dissed at my porsche dealer here twice so now I own a BMW. And we have discussed my age so that was not the issue.

Pipecrew South Beach has totally unreal wheels. I have never seen so much $$$$ on wheels in my life as last weekend. The pimped out chrysler 300's seemed to be show stealers there. The bentleys and ferraris just got yawns.

That is because of the weekend you were down, all those guys were rocking the chryslers from all over wanting to one up each other.. Yeah ferraris, Rolls, bentleys and everything are ALL over the place here. They really only impress the tourists I think. Anytime you take those cars off the beach, they become head turners again, even my BMW in cocunut grove (around university of miami), the college girls go crazy! haha

IMO you should be able to test drive the Porshe with no problems. They are aplenty and they should be begging to sell those right now. No one is lining up to pay 135k for a car that is abit outdated. As for the Ferrari...good luck. No way you are test driving that. Thats the bad news. The good news is if you have the money and can get one, just get it. I promise you won't be disappointed. And if they fuck you over, go for the Lambo Gallardo.

I wanted to buy a trooper 4wd, and went to the dealer ship. the guy treated me like shit. In fact, he threw us out. So I drove over later that week, and showed him the ford F150 Lightening that I bought. CASH!

Unfortunately the new Ferrari's are a bit too much. I'm thinking like a 355 GTS (my fav).

Great car, but is a Porsche not much much more reliable...

Do you want an exotic that everyone has seen or something much less common like the DB9? Aston Martin DB9 would be my next car I think.

Interesting how certain dealerships will treat you completely different to others. I test drove the Honda S2000 (or whatever it's called). They put me throught the wringer, checked my credit rating, took a $5000 deposit, and sent a rep with me for a 5 minute ride. By comparison the Jag dealer sent me out in a XKR convertible by myself for one hour, no questions asked. The Honda is a $50,000 car while the Jag is a $125,000 car (CDN). I bought the Jag. Some dealers are just pricks.

Man, I would never jump through those loops for a s2000. I would be so pissed if they tried all that on me for than car. I'd be fine if they needed that to test an exotic, but a Honda? They are outta their mind.

I was 17 when I get my Acura, and they had an S2000 there too. Asked if I was interested in that one also, but I really wasn't so I didn't bother driving it.
