I love those albums too, i grew up with those, but to see what they been threw and come out with st. anger is amazing

YARGH! Master of Puppets is prolly me favorite overall but depending on me mood, Kill 'Em All, or Ride The Lightning.

If I could listen to Slayer instead, I'd do that :upsidedow

HAPPYPEEKERS 06-02-2006 06:42 PM

master of puppets

OG LennyT 06-02-2006 06:43 PM

'Kill Em All' or 'And Justice for All'

MrJackMeHoff 06-02-2006 06:43 PM

Cmon guys "...And Justice for All" was the best technically while still the hardest.. After that was shit imo.

TreasureBucks 06-02-2006 06:46 PM

everything before justice was their best stuff.

They all kick ass but my favs would have to be...

Kill 'Em All
Garage Inc.
Ride the Lightning
Master of Puppets

Drake 06-02-2006 06:58 PM

And Justice For All followed by the black album.

Hardcore fans will list their earlier trash material (their first 3 albums) but I've never been able to sink my teeth into those albums, although I appreciate the musicianship and the unorthodox song structures. The black album truly was a sellout album when compared to their other stuff. It's a rock record, not a thrash or metal album. But by any other standard it's a masterpiece (just compare it to any other album out during the same period). Many ppl only know their older stuff because of the black album.

Didn't care too much for the production on that one. Some great songs though.

chio, that's what I loved about And Justice For All. Compared to earlier efforts (which sound like they were recorded in a garage). The And Justice sound was clean and vivid. Fast yet melodic and rich.

that one's got my vote

ChrisAnubis 06-02-2006 07:33 PM

Ride The Lightning, hands down. A little more poslished than Kill 'Em All, but still that sound that made Kill Em All great to begin with.

Basically everything after the Black album is shit. They started to lose me a little with ...In Justice For All. Still a good album, but not them at their best. Something about the overall "sound" of the album. And not to mention the bass was mixed WAY to high on that album.

MaddCaz 06-02-2006 07:33 PM

cant name one

hezochiah 06-02-2006 07:41 PM

it still cracks me up how people are so butt hurt that Metallica supposedly sold out with the Black Album. Put any pre conceived thoughts of the album aside and put it in and press play. It's a damn good album from beginning to end. It may have been a commercial success but who cares. Isn't the point of doing something as a career to be succesful at it...

suicidemessiah 06-02-2006 08:13 PM

i like master of puppets
but right now im in a mood for the load album, i know its not that all speed but its still rock solid :)

i think james hetfield hire a vocal coach for the st anger album lol :)

Anna_O 06-03-2006 05:04 AM

As a whole album I must say "Master of Puppets" even though none of my top 5 Metallica songs are on it...

SinisterStudios 06-03-2006 05:14 AM

FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE

Do unto others as they've done to you
But what the hell is this world coming to?
Blow the universe into nothingness
Nuclear warfare shall lay us to rest

Fight fire with fire
Ending is near
Fight fire with fire
Bursting with fear

We all shall die
Time is like a fuse, short and burning fast
Armageddon's here, like said in the past

Fight fire with fire
Ending is near
Fight fire with fire
Bursting with fear

Soon to fill our lungs, the hot winds of death
The gods are laughing, so take your last breath

Fight fire with fire
Ending is near
Fight fire with fire
Bursting with fear

Fight fire with fire
