webair's email problems.. anyone else tired of this?

this has seriously gone on way too long.. email communication is vital in any internet business.. i am tired of seeing my email not being forwarded, delivered, or "catch all" settings not working.. fix your mail server, this is ridiculous.

any other customers noticing these constant mail problems?

if you arent a webair customer, recommend a hosting company that has a rock solid email system, hosting, and admin console.. thanks

Never had a problem with my servers, did you actually file a ticket to have it looked at?

I agree, e-mail with webair is quite unreliable... as a matter of fact, I had a person call me up today and wonder when I was going to answer their e-mail... that never came through :Oh crap

I had a problem with email last week. It appears to be resolved (crossing fingers).

server/hosting is fine.. absolutely no complaints.. its their email system that is totally unreliable... tickets solve nothing with this ongoing issue

They are on the shared email system Charles. Not sure if you run your own server on your boxes. I just got a new box through them this week, but I run my own mail servers. I know they have been working on the mail server on and off for about a month.

MrKnowItAll 06-02-2006 05:05 PM

they host spammers, that's why

All my own boxes, that's probably why.

;(

I was about to make a thread about it, you beat me to it... Can we get some answers on this matter, WEBAIR??

Mr. Soul 06-02-2006 05:20 PM

You use webair servers to bulk mail, you don't use them as your primary mail server. Are you new or what?

darnit 06-02-2006 05:22 PM

Ive been getting these errors quite a bit over the last two weeks:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at webair.net.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

I love their hosting... so this is not a slam. Just curious if its related to what you guys are discussing.

its called quality of service motherfucker. and this is unacceptable. bulk email or not, their shit should work. and it's not primary, but still holds importance.

When I have to talk to a Webair tech I call 1-866-webair-1

Usually they take care of me instantly, when that's not possible I at least get some pretty decent phone sex out of the deal.

Warren 06-02-2006 06:36 PM

Having the same problem, its really frustrating.

Sin_Vraal 06-02-2006 06:42 PM

Just have them install qmail on your own box if your dedicated... should be super simple to do and blamo your problems are solved.

OR just buy a mail server from another company or something and point your MX records there. Qmail can be installed in about 3 minutes w. little effort.

Is this a shared server problem?

Not for me, own box :( calling them again thanks for the advice.

madawgz 06-02-2006 09:23 PM

all you had to do is email them to fix the problem...

haha, the theme of the post is the "ongoing" issue with mail.

Waveu6410 06-02-2006 10:23 PM

i always call webair anytime day or night and get the problem fixed after talking to someone.

i never use the email since a tech is always ready to help you.

Violetta 06-03-2006 06:02 AM

I dont think I have ever had an email problem with webair...

drama 06-03-2006 06:12 AM

I admin my own boxes and never had a problem with rmails getting filtered due to spam black hole'ing.

However, after two boxes lost a drive each and i lost about 500GB worth of content it was time to move my shit off. The reason was they were working on the power feeds and who knows why but the drives got zapped, of which i never got an email from them about this power feed upgrade.

I build my own box with 12 300GB Seagate drives running in raid6 and never looked back. It's my opinion that the bandwidth is better and way cheaper!

miss_twisted 06-03-2006 06:57 AM

I have had mail issues with them for a couple weeks, talked to a tech on live help they said there wasnt a problem, now I see this. Well atleast now I know I'm not dreaming. lol

Overall webair has alway done well by me and I won't change hosts just because of that. The last few months things have been alittle off, getting someone to pick you up on live help is becoming an issue, mail server issues and me having to catch things that they should have caught but I look at it this way, every biz has growing pains and this is probably the case here as well.

drama 06-03-2006 07:05 AM

If anyone wants me to set up an email server for them just let me know. I'll do it for free and host it on my box and provide you with pop3 access to it all.
