Do contests get you to try programs?

What would you say makes you want to signup for programs and send them traffic more:

Contest give aways?
A reccomendation from a friend?
Seeing their banners around a lot?
The quality of their sites?
The people who run the program are cool?

How much do contests make a difference in your decision to try a new sponsor?

Thanks

The quality of their sites and recommendation from friends are on the first place but I also signed up to some sponsors from their contest threads.

I sign up and send traffic...esp in the Hummer contest

Many contests don't pay off in the end anyway.

Is this Nico the programmer?

So what if a contest would give you rewards for as little as 3 signups?

I agree contsests that give away cars and such to people who send the most sales only benefit whales as you say and other programs who trade traffic.

It does seem theres not a lot of trust in big contests.

You only need 1 sale to be eligible to win our HUMMER, or refer the webmaster who wins it and you get $10,000.00 cash. Yes, the more sales you send, the better your odds of winning however the reality is that the HUMMER could go to a webmaster who sends only 1 sale. :thumbsup

A contest is only a tool, and means nothing without a quality product to sell. :2 cents:

Spunky 06-02-2006 09:16 PM

When there is too many of them then it's annoying..I post in them just for the numbers.

The short answer - no

bdld 06-02-2006 10:29 PM

quality of sites makes me try out a sponsor. contests can make me take a good look at the sites. that's about it.
