Repeated requests for "forgot my password" are un-answered for more than 40 hours. It's not just me.

Sorry, but I think using gmail, yahoo mail or any other free email service when you have your own domains is pretty silly.

Why? I see nothing wrong with it, and no offense, i feel gmail will be much more stable and long-lasting than any domain you'll run. They have the funds to back their shit up :)

That's not quite the point. Most people still have free email addresses.

How can you retrieve a password from your mailserver if you can't even upload a php script :winkwink:

That might be. But it would be FAR more meaningful to discover that Google had issues with myspace.com than to discover it has issues with gotwebhost.com -- :)

YARGH! Silly? Gmail saved me a number of times on the road when I need to search for an older email, that wouldn't have been on my laptop.

I guess I need to clear up that issue since you seem to keep harping on it.

I followed his instructions and uploaded it. I tested it and it failed . . . because I used www,domain.com/test.php instead of www.domain.com/test.php

It was late, and I did not notice the typo, until the next morning when I looked again and discovered my error.

Maybe to you, but I would have a lot more interest if I discovered they had issues with us. :)

Yeah, I could see having all my business accounts go to a gmail address. :1orglaugh

That would work . . . . not.

Not every email exchanged is business related.

You assume a lot. Then again, so did I .. I assumed you owning a hosting company would mean you could upload a php script.

[01:13] ************: hey, ************ from gfy
[01:13] 16075497: hello
[01:14] ************: did you see my post in that SEO thread regarding phpinfo?
[01:14] 16075497: I am not sure I understand your request . . . did you want to know what version of PHP comes with our servers?
[01:14] ************: hmm.. can you get me a link to a file with the following code in it:

Code:

<?php phpinfo(); ?>

[01:14] ************: thats pretty clear :)
[01:14] ************: i need to see the output from that function
[01:14] ************: it gives a bunch of information about what extensions php has, etc
[01:14] ************: which is configuration-dependent
[01:17] 16075497: to be honest, I would not even know where to start looking.

I can tell you that our virtual servers use the Direct Admin control panel, and that comes with PHP4.4.2 ( http://www.directadmin.com/install.html )

I honestly don't know where I would start looking for a file with that particular line of code it it

[01:19] 16075497: oh, so I can just create a file and add that code? do I need to add anything else? I am not a tech geek.
[01:19] ************: hehe, yeah, thats it
[01:19] ************: just make a file somewhere that we can get to via the web
[01:19] 16075497: one moment
[01:19] ************: k
[01:19] 16075497: can I add it to a blog entry? like make a temporary blog entry and just put that line in it?
[01:20] ************: i doubt it
[01:20] ************: just have one of the tech guys hit me up tomorrow
[01:20] ************: or email me the url when you can get in touch with them
[01:20] ************: michael@************.com
[01:21] 16075497: hmmm. . . let me see if I can figure out how to do it . . . fo I need to name the file something .php?
[01:22] 16075497: or does the extension matter?
[01:22] ************: .php
[01:22] ************: im heading out though
[01:22] ************: if you're able to get it going, email it over please
[01:22] ************: take care
[01:22] 16075497: k
[01:22] 16075497: if I can't figure it out tonight, I will do it first thing tomorrow
