I'm about to buy a new computer...
 

i just wanted to ask which brand of computer is the best right now? i am leaning toward dell, but my friend has a strong argument with gateway. lemme know what you're thinkin.......

i would go with the commodore 64

I'm also going to buy a new pc shortly. I don't buy a full factory system, I'm even planning to put it together myself.

Intel pentium 4 3.2 ghz or a dual core (need to check this)
2 gig ram
200 gig maxtor HD

Running Xp pro so it's stable

Just looking for a fast machine to work with.

Just to let you know, I've had problems with maxtor drives in the past.

Dell's are pretty solid IMO.

Ive been running a Dell Dimension w/XP pro here for 4 years .... Just upgraded the HD to a 200Gb Western Digital for $80 and added a Firewire + USB card for the Ipod for only $25 from NewEgg.

Next machine is positively going to be a custom one.
