Webmaster boards power?

Hey folks, I just thinking about how much power adult webaster boards has? Maybe some drama threads can "destroy" a sponsor or some "good" threads for one sponsor can make it respectable and have more sign ups?

What do u think? Boards and their posters have all that power that can change things in online adult industry ?

idiocy .......

I know that boards and threads are what sells my work.

One good post or refferal from one webmaster leads me to another and then another...One bad post however and I could be up the shit...

So Yeah, I definitely think that adult webmaster forums have a lot of influence on the industry, maybe not a huge part of the industry but the local community here it does anyway!

Quick answer djroof - no.

Although there are a number of real webmasters and others associated within the industry, most are trolls and a waste of time.

Sure, on rare occasions the concept of something new may come from a board, but the rest is implemented by working (and networking) in the real world - and usually by folks who have a clue.

Another factor and only my :2 cents:, but most webmasters I know may have visited, eg GFY, but that's where it ends.

another question, how important are boards to brand and promote a new affiliate program?

can you do it only via boards? or can you do it totally without any board promotion ?

I think people over estimate the power of say gfy when it comes to drama. Similar to WHT and webhosting. When it comes down to it, webmasters will go with who is reliable and who pays the best/converts the best.

Judging by your sig PA - you are a better judge of the branding question :winkwink:

Can ya do it without board promotion? Sure. Boards are obviously useful to target fresh new heads tho, but the quality of that traffic may be less.

Only my :2 cents: - for every 1000 signs to an affilate program, - over 90% are useless traffic or never actually start. It's easier to network with genuine webmasters and do some biz and cut the time-wasting on the others.

On my side of this, there isnt awhole lot of power but there is. People can get hooked up from someone else to help boost profits and those that really dont know anything can get help and learn to better themselves. and on the other hand, this place is just another place to whine and cry about stupid shit.
