Driving in Saigon, Vietnam (video)
|
It's amazing how there are no accidents and it seems like they have some type of order going on!!
|
i've spent lots of time in SE asia (not vietnam) but this is the way it is over there.
and in all but the very largest urban areas there is no such thing as stoplights or stop signs. and millions of people are moved fairly efficiently this way without injury. but contact speeds are low, and cultually the people are not argumentative or given to "road rage" or "right-of-way" issues such as we have in the western world. being pleasant has it's own rewards. and, as an aside, IMO this pleasant "happy" culture makes the women of SE asia some of world's most desirable.. |
2hpProfound. Disturbing. Inspirational. |

|
Hey
I cant view it computer is playing up |
That is insane.
|
just love that !!
|
I have driven motorbikes in that exact shit in Vietnam. That is the norm... full on. Though I have not seen ONE accident there.
The crazy thing is they have motorbike thieves that will zip out of that mess, onto the sidewalk and take the phone right out of your hand and then disappear back into the chaos. My friend had his camera (D70) stolen that way. Bike thieves like that are VERY common there and a huge problem. |
Ive seen stats on traffic related fatalaties in a couple countries and they're as insane as pre Ralph Nader North America.
heres a WHO estimate on chinas situation (the most dangerous to my understanding)... Quote:
If my math is right thats a 1/73 chance youre getting hurt somehow by traffic, each year. Not that I trust stats much, or my math, but still, Id be scared to cross the street there. |
