Who's going to win the World Cup

Place your bets...

MegaPartnerJerry 05-31-2006 06:04 PM

USA, not!!! LOL

Hey man I love my country and I really think the US has a good team, but if a had to pick it would be either Brazil or the Czechs!

sweetgirl2006 05-31-2006 06:34 PM

thats a tough decision hmm, i would say england but the croatians got a good team too so i would say either croatia or argentina.

emjay 05-31-2006 06:40 PM

Now that Rooney's foot is better, ENGLAND :drinkup

WWC-Pajio 05-31-2006 07:06 PM

Viva la Brazil

thricer 05-31-2006 07:24 PM

Brazil or England...

Spunky 05-31-2006 07:26 PM

I'm betting on Brazil

J. Falcon 05-31-2006 07:28 PM

I say Brazil, almost without a doubt.

Tdog 05-31-2006 07:30 PM

Brazil looks real good.

MegaPartnerJerry 05-31-2006 07:31 PM

Brazil?

Whats up with Brazil and soccer? Do they manufactor GREAT soccer players? Every World Cup, every 4 years they are the team to beat! I know other countries have GREAT player and great teams but the Brazil is always the favorite!

Relish XXX 05-31-2006 07:39 PM

If USA won in Germany there would be fucking riots. It would be like Hitler winning the football in Israel.

My guess is England or Brazil.

The Demon 05-31-2006 08:12 PM

It's almost guaranteed that Brazil is going to win. They would have to shoot half of their players NOT to win. England won't even be in the final because they're known to choke in every world cup, although I love Michael Owen. I would guess Brazil and Argentina or perhaps Brazil and Germany.

Nicky 05-31-2006 08:14 PM

Im hoping for Sweden but I guess Brazil will win

England is not even going to win their group and will face a hard competitor in the 1/8 finals. :)

nekrom 05-31-2006 08:38 PM

I'd say either Brazil or Germany. The furthest Australia will get to is Group 2, they've got some tuff comp right off the bat.

Vitasoy 06-01-2006 02:07 AM

If I had to put my money on it... Brazil

hova 06-01-2006 02:18 AM

put some money on brazil

mOrrI 06-01-2006 02:20 AM

Final will be Brasil vs Portugal LOL....

Sarah_Jayne 06-01-2006 04:31 AM

I have to pray for England.

Lee 06-01-2006 04:34 AM

I fear it wont be England but Im praying I am wrong. Historically, European teams do better when its staged in Europe. Also, the host nation tend to do quite well, allied to the fact that Germany somehow always seem to be there or thereabouts.

Therefore Im going for France lol.

next to brazil, england have the best players (especially if rooney is fit). but it's teams that win world cups, not players (with the exception of maradona). so if england play well as a team i think they will win if brazil don't.

manne 06-01-2006 05:48 AM

Germany will win :2 cents:

johnshinil 06-01-2006 05:53 AM

Um.. Germany !

sickkittens 06-01-2006 05:54 AM

Brazil sounds like a good guess each year.

sickkittens 06-01-2006 05:54 AM

Haha...figures...they are ranked #1. What's new?

Scott McD 06-01-2006 05:56 AM

Hopefully Brazil.

After having to listen to Ian Wright talking shite during the England game on the BBC the other day, it's no wonder us Scots like to see England get fucked !! :321GFY

Scott McD 06-01-2006 06:01 AM

One example of the shit he speaks, and should again raise the qustion why he is allowed on the panel at these games :

Ian Wright's opinion on Steven gerrards blatant dive in the box to win a penalty....

''Its gonna happen to us so lets do it to dem'' :disgust

An English journalist's view on Ian Wright and the BBCs coverage of this weeks England game..

"If there was one positive to be taken from Wright?s wailings on Tuesday night it was that anything is possible; having spent the last two years desecrating the role of 'expert pundit', Wright achieved the seemingly impossible by further debasing the job.

Sven's wholly-justified decision to jettison Wright's adopted son from England's World Cup 23 appears to have eroded whatever modicum of reason Wright formerly possessed. Displaying more twitches than that fella with Tourette's Syndrome in the Big Brother house, the palpably bitter Wright's sole contribution was to disparage Eriksson at every opportunity.

Pundits do not necessarily have to be objective, but it would make sense if they occasionally made sense. Suggesting, with a remark that disgraced the BBC, that Hargreaves owed his place "because he knows something about Eriksson's family," must be the final straw. Eriksson's view of Wright's own family has sent him over the edge.

The lack of objectivity in the BBC's coverage was startling.

Steven Gerrard may have tripped over thin air to win England's first-half penalty but at half-time, Wright suggested that Gerrard was within his rights to dive to win a penalty as "that's what they'll do to us at the World Cup." Err, that's alright then.

Hargreaves was subjected to a hatchet job that surely owed much to the fact that he plies his trade overseas. The Bayern Munich midfielder may not have excelled but he was far from being as poor as the BBC pundits suggested. Given editorial control, the contribution of any player can be devalued by a few suggestive replays. Having refused to acknowledge last week's match, Carrick is clearly the BBC's golden boy despite making twice as many mistakes in the opening half-hour against Belarus as Hargreaves committed on Wednesday.

How ironic that having been promoted by the BBC in a nod to race relations, Wright is apparently unable to see beyond Hargreaves as a Canuck or some sort of German infiltrator.

If it weren't for the blessed mute button, the next six weeks would suddenly take the form of a terrible ordeal".

(well said that man)

adamneve 06-01-2006 06:05 AM

Germany just because they are playing at home

mattt 06-01-2006 06:06 AM

VicD 06-01-2006 06:09 AM

I hope Holland but i think Brasil

VicJay 06-01-2006 06:16 AM

England:drinkup England:drinkup England:drinkup

hershie 06-01-2006 06:18 AM

I was surprised to see the Czech Republic, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden so highly ranked. They all have really small populations and cold weather climates.

Sarah_Jayne 06-01-2006 06:21 AM

If England does win I saw those of us in England meet up at the victory parade.

Mr. Romance 06-01-2006 06:23 AM

My guess Brazil...

northboy 06-01-2006 08:04 AM

Canada is going to win it easily this year

hzoltan 06-01-2006 08:04 AM

Hope not Italy will...
Go Czech Republic!! :)

Sexsitesurfer 06-01-2006 08:16 AM

England... I hope!

The Fifa rankings are bollocks because some of the teams (USA, Mexico, etc) are playing consistently low level teams whilst a team like Argentina, who consistently play Brasil, suffer. Also most European teams suffer as the qualifying groups for the WC and EC are a much higher standard than say an Asian, CONCAF or African region group.

Anyway, most of the Europeans are in with a shout. Brasil and Argentina will be there or there abouts. Think Ivory Coast and Australia may have a couple of good results in them.

Glad I didn't have to listen to Ian Wright as I'm an Arsenal fan and I like to remember him for the good things he did!

Anyway, should be a corker with no easy groups. Let's hope the teams aren't too cagey and go out to win as opposed to not to lose.

C'mon England!

u-Bob 06-01-2006 08:54 AM

Germany...
