JM Productions under Federal indictment
Just read it on AVN.
Here we go again. "Federal indictments charging seven counts of interstate trafficking in obscene material were unsealed today against JM Productions and its principal Jeff Steward, as well as retailer/distributor Five Star Video and two of its principals. .................................." Full Story http://www.avn.com/index.php?Primary...tent_ID=268873 |
They are the dip shits who made the Donkey Punch movie right? If so... that's what they get.
|
not to shocking
extreme content will be what takes this industry down |
Another way to look at it is that if there was no extreme content, they'd come after more standard hardcore content. But yeah, extreme is predictably a target because they would need to sway a jury if it went to trial.

there is no legal term as "hardcore" so you think its good to have people like this to take the hit for everyone else? |
donkey? errr what kinda shit did they do?
|
Quote:
I'd prefer nobody be in a position to take the hit so to speak, but I think someone is always going to be picked on. |
why can't they just leave us alone?
|
Quote:
What the fuck are they doing sending titles using US Postal service? |
How can this keep happening? All they have to do is...........
STOP MAILING DVD'S...THIS IS THE FUCKING INTERNET!! |
Quote:
thats the thing, every company has a list of zip codes not to ship too. this is another bs govt move where they probably set them up like they did with extreme. its best to fly under the radar.. don't do extreme shit |

no suprises there

Doesnt change how I feel about it. I still suspect that they will have to work on what they consider the extreme content because if they intend to win, they'll need to sway a jury. Moms and Pops these days are not like the 70's when even a naked picture could be considered "obscene".
|
It will be a major victory for free speech if they get aquitted or the charges are dropped for the obscenity counts.
I watched Hotel the other night and I found it to be completely obscene. I'd much rather watch a girl get a bukkake than that gruesome Hostel gore anyday. |

Besides who wants to stop mailing dvds when there is good money to be made there too? Everyone who is anyone knows not to mail there. Jeff knew better too but as far as I can tell he wanted to push it - Just like Robb Black had to expect a fight like he caught in PA too. The problem is community standards laws that are essentially outdated. The problem is law enforcement resources being devoted to something like this when clearly only consenting adults are involved and much more serious problems are at hand... like serial killers, terrorists, hit men, gangs etc. |

"Specifically, the indictment, which was handed down on May 23, charges that the Five Star Video defendants "knowingly used an interactive computer service and other facilities and means of interstate and foreign commerce to sell and distribute, to a location in Northern Virginia" This means that they used the internet to ADVERTISE their titles and then they MAILED it to Northern Virginia... So sit on this and spin :321GFY |

BTW, who says that ... aside from you ... Quote:

Anybody know of a list of places NOT to do business?

If they didn't MAIL the shit to Virginia in the first place, then nothing would have happened...You know that the govt. ALWAYS stacks the charges once they have you snared...The web shit will be thrown out...Probably as part of a pleabargain deal that they will offer. If you could get snagged JUST for web transportation, then that means that they could arrest anybody whose website can be accessed from Virginia... Read between the lines moron. |
Ok the feds executed a search warranet on JM about a year ago...next came Max...
Max will be next to get indicted.... |
edit: Just read the article

it doesnt matter if they used USPS, UPS, or FEDEX.. they are still shipping obscene vids across state lines. thats where it becomes a federal offence |

"The indictment also charges that those same defendants "knowingly used the United States mails to mail and deliver to a location in Northern Virginia, a DVD containing obscene matter," while another set of counts charges that those same defendants "knowingly used an express company or other common carrier for carriage in interstate commerce and delivery to a location outside of the State of Arizona, of a package which contained DVDs that are obscene." Back in 1994 I remember reading about a video company being busted for sending videos to Virginia so that state was always on my internal taboo list. |

wow, looks like it could be to different charges..crazy |
JM do some pretty extreme stuff, (great extreme content). Not really suprised they are a target after Extreme. Wish they would leave us along but I guess they'll keep pushing till they get some bible belt state court to put charges on the porn company.

Its odd this isnt getting more attention, as this is pretty damn serious
Mike South- what are your thoughts on this as a whole, and how these moves by the government may trickle down to the "regular" porn guys? |
But cause this needs to be read.

I'd like to hear this as well |
"This indictment represents the Bush administration's second major federal assault on an adult video production company, and as in the case of the first target, Extreme Associates, the government's focus has been on videos which fall somewhat outside standard adult video fare. In Gag Factor 15, for instance, Ashley Blue essays a parody of Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison, where prisoners are tortured through throat-fucking, while in American Bukkake 13, Sabrina Jayde is fitted with one of those conical shields veterinarians use to keep dogs from licking their wounds, but which in this case the "Bukkake Boys" use to direct their spew so Sabrina can lick it all up. "

Is anyone surprised to see the current government wasting tax dollars to assault free speech and the constitution?
They want to crack down on consenting adults watching other consenting adults having sex on video. Then they talk about wanting less government. :1orglaugh |
