Friend just had a baby, need a gift
 

My friend just had a baby last night. I figure the father is suppose to hand out cigars, but I hate them. But Im looking for something to say "congrats" and NO I dont want to get them a card. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks for the help! :thumbsup

A Mommy bear was one of my fave gifts..it's just a teddy bear with a velcro strap so you can attach it outside the crib, (so baby doesn't suffocate on it when he/she is tiny), and it has a recording of a heartbeat in it, so you can turn it on and baby feels like you are right there. It definitely made a difference in how much my babies stayed settled when I laid them down.

kinda helps to know if its a boy or girl.... but do what I did for my neices and nephews iinstead of one gift.. I would wait till my sister needed Diapers or bottles or something then I'd run out and get it for her.. meant more to her then any gift... or at least she says

Diapers are always a good thing to give plus any kinda bath stuff. Gift cards to Babies R Us are always good too.

stroller, gift cards etc......... new parents could always use all the help they can get. Plus it's nice!

See if they are registered somewhere. If not, I'd give them a check or a gift certificate. It's hard to tell what people have already for newborns.

You can't go wrong with diapers and baby wipes.

....you can get a gold bracelet or something like that!! it's nice as a gift.. I don't like clothes :D
