the only good thing to come from AOL was when they were sent out of floppy discs and you got a free floppy disc!

I had a few of those flops, mainly the zip drive..... oh how it was supposed to make things easier, but it blows when you have a backed up hardrive and you cant get it back....

Clippy isn't on the list?
Let's see, I had a laptop bundled with Windows ME and installed 2000 on it as soon as humanly possible. It was a p.o.s otherwise. I paid for RealProducer in 1999 to do all my site's videos. Now I can barely convert those old things up to WMV and they look like crap and that's if their audio works. IE 6 is largely unused. Firefox can't log into my government's Epass system, so that's about the only thing I use IE for. Well, that and testing sites. And yep, I had zip drives AND the Sparq drive. Go me. |
they hit the nail on the head

Most of those I can relate
|
RealNetworks RealPlayer (1999)
It was out way before 1999. I remember using it to listen to streaming radio stations back in 1996. |
Apple Newton?
|
I admit, I owned a Coleco Adam computer. I even belonged to an Adam Users group. I replaced it with a Mac portable, then a Gateway with AOL access. I now outsource all my technology buying decisions.

ha.. fucking realplayer.. serves them rights.. zip disks weren't bad though.. they definately filled a niche at the time - the only problem was that they were usurped by cheap burners and usb drives, can't help that.
IE6 roxxors. |
Nice List :)
i think that should be made every month :) |
What is "15. Iomega Zip Drive (1998)" doing there....biased people to say the least
