Back in January I got nailed on the way home from the AnyWebCam party in Hollywood, doing 85. I had tried to get traffic school just to keep it off my record, but was told I was not eligible due to the speed. My only hope was to contest the ticket and hope the cop did not show up.

He showed up. Damn. Said I was doing 80 MPH, blasted to 90, then slowed to 85 during the 1/2 mile pace.

I concentrated my cross-examination of the cop to the accuracy of his speedometer and other cars that were around me. The cop did not have "records" but had notes. I stated I could not cross-examine notes.

I then asked him about other cars around me, but he did not remember them, so could not testify.

I told the judge the only reason I was fighting this was because they would not give me traffic school. He said at 85 I wasn't eligible.

My defense was that I was being blocked in by a car to the right of me that wasn't letting me change lanes so I had to slow down, knowing he would slow down, then speed up fast enough to be able to get in front of him and therefore able to get off the freeway.

The judge found me guilty. I then requested traffic school, and he granted it! Right on!

Moral of the story: it never hurts to ask.

Yeah, I guess that is always possible, but I think I will do it online so I can set my own schedule, plus I don't have to go back to court to prove I completed it if I do it online.

I got hit with a ticket doing 90 up in fresno and they still let me do traffic school.

I am actually shocked the cop showed up.

Since the ticket was issued at 12:30AM I thought the odds were with me . . . . which is why I don't play games of chance. I have zero luck factor.

Out of everyone there, only about 4 cops showed up.

when u get traffic school u gotta pay for it right? i think thats how something like that works around here

Same thing happen to me on the 210 fwy back in 2003, I was doing about 100mph on my way to the Lakers game. I got pulled over, He asked the typical question "Know why I stopped you" I said yes. He asked where I was going? I said Staples Center. Long story short..He noted 90+ on the ticket. My fine was $113 was expecting it to be higher, plus I got traffic school.
