chupachups 05-29-2006 11:54 PM

Yeah, I have the same experience. Ordered a monitor from them - took 3 weeks to get it.

'So Fucking Money 05-29-2006 11:55 PM

If you bought from apple you would have been waiting like I have. Ordered on the 20th. EST date of arrival is the 8th.

PussyTeenies 05-30-2006 12:24 AM

dell took 1 day (actually 17 hours) to deliver a pc to my door

webcrawler 05-30-2006 02:23 AM

I ordered and got the PCs in 5 days.

madawgz 05-30-2006 02:29 AM

omg.... because of all the coupon talk on gfy you decided to buy a dell?

fuck ........ :1orglaugh

GrannyDollars 05-30-2006 02:49 AM

Dell PCs are fucking slow, both in delivery and performance. Have to reinstall that shit once you get it, the amount of bullshit software they put into these PCs makes a dual centrino seem like a C64

munki 05-30-2006 02:52 AM

I'm of quite a different opinion with Dell.

Started using them about a 1 year ago, maybe a bit longer, and have had nothing but great experiences...

I've order 3 systems total now, 2 pdas, 3 monitors, and couple of printers etc... All of them are to me very quickly.

Customer service admittedly could be better as far as tech support goes, but comparitely to experience with Sony, and Gateway, they rocked.

Rebecca Love 05-30-2006 04:28 AM

I my dealings with Dell it has always been a slow road. :Oh crap

True dat. Where you Dell lovers been? It's been like that for some time now.

:disgust

E$_manager 05-30-2006 08:12 AM

you had to deal with Acer.

pussyluver 05-30-2006 08:16 AM

So what brand do you MOFOs recommend?

sickkittens 05-30-2006 08:18 AM

My Dell doesn't like warm weather. :(

MetaMan 05-30-2006 09:08 AM

It's just a piss off, normally places take 2 days to fucking process and send your order, this shit has been in production since the 25th.

serioulsy, it does not take that long to build a PC.

what is the most piss off is that my PC is basically fuxored, now i have to sit on my mac for the next 2 weeks waiting for this bullshit, never again will i order from them. it says "2-5 day shipping" not, "we take a half a month to get your PC built and then shipped". GRRRRRR

Basic_man 05-30-2006 09:10 AM

Dell is kinda fast.. normally :)

Spudstr 05-30-2006 09:23 AM

all of my servers arrive with in about 3-4 days if not 2 days day to prep and dovernight. get yourself someoen with a enterprise reseller free overnight shipping and you can get things bumped into the priority queue.

Though if they are short of a product like the 850's were on a two week backorder about 3 weeks ago :( then your screwed and have to wait.

G-Rotica 05-30-2006 09:24 AM

i called their support the other day. I talked to some girl from bangledesh that tried to tell me her name was Janice Joplin.

L0rdJuni0r 05-30-2006 09:28 AM

i prefer an HP :)

Build your own machines.

:2 cents:

Sosa 05-30-2006 02:48 PM

They usually show up before that date. I think they jsut give a long shot date incase problems arise.

A bunch reasons NOT to build your own.

Compatibility issue:
Say the motherbaord is not working well with the hard drive selected. Dell, HP, IBM etc. have teams of engineers to resolve the issue.

Manufactures continously update software (drivers):
Build it your self and have a lot fewer upgrades from the motherboard manufacturer.

It doesn't work, a brand name offers support to help:
Even if isn't the best or in a third world country some support beats no support.

I could go on and on, but think you get the idea.

Sly 05-30-2006 03:24 PM

I think they over predict on purpose. Every time I have ordered from Dell they give a 3 week estimation and I have it sitting in my living room within a week. I've always been impressed with their speediness. This includes 2 desktop computers, a laptop, a monitor, a MP3 player, and 2 different parts orders. All separate orders, all within a week.

Screaming 05-30-2006 03:25 PM

i love both of my dells and i got them quicker then they told me i would so good luck

natas 05-30-2006 04:20 PM

My Dell laptop took 2 days to get to my door, and I'm very happy with it :)

If you know what you are doing, then you build your own machine, and it's easy enough to keep up on all of those things. But that's just me.

Plus I can build a better machine, with higher end parts for the same or less money than a subpar system off the rack somewhere else.

I too could go on and on about why you should build your own if you know what you are doing, or want to research it.

minusonebit 05-30-2006 05:27 PM

haha, fuck Dell. Oh god, never again will I buy anything from them.

Vitasoy 05-30-2006 06:40 PM

Usually takes around two weeks for them to deliver custom ordered pcs, well for me it does

onlineriches 05-30-2006 06:44 PM

agreed with barefootsies, cut hundreds off the price, and have more power in it. :)

ive ordered about 50 grand worth of shit from them for myself and clients.

their customer service at times has sucked cock (outsourced to india) but theres a trick to getting good service -

you must ask for an american rep during US business hrs.

also when your a preferred mothefucker like me, they dont fuck around and actually have a preferred cust serv rep they connect you to instantly-

dell also sends you kick ass coupons - this week i got a 35% off coupon plus they gave me another 10% because i was a preferred customer.
