Yeah, sure - and all the coaches and players in the NBA that don't agree with you don't know anything about basketball either, right? It's not just his size, it's how coordinated he is for a man of that size.
Shaq actually has a pretty decent set of moves, especially for a guy who is that damn big. He's got good dropstep moves going either direction and from either elbow of the lane, a nice little half-hook that he's pretty consistent with from about 12 feet in, and he seals the defender extremely well when receiving lobs in the post. He's also a pretty decent passer from the post, which a lot of other centers are not.
I'm no Lakers fan - far from it. I really hope the Kings take them down, but to suggest that Shaq is only as good as he is due to his size is a joke. There's been no shortage of huge players in the NBA, but very few of them have had anywhere the kind of impact on the league that Shaq has. |
