"I think the adult industry has been catching on to the fact that Latin erotica is popular and that there are many consumers out there who enjoy it," explained the Las Vegas-based Latina nude model Justine Sands, whose parents are from Spain and the Dominican Republic. "It has grown so rapidly and has become its own niche market. Every time I go online, I see another new Latin adult website that I've never seen before.


"The Latin scene is ever so popular now compared to, say, five years ago," Gary Dginger, program manager for LatinCash, said. With all this hype of Latin celebrities, the Latin niche is here for good. I would say the Latin niche has grown about 200 percent in the last five years. Latin culture and lifestyle is part of our everyday lives, and the Latin presence is very strong in the adult industry these days."


Mark Kulkis, president of the Los Angeles-based Kick Ass Pictures, recalled that before he stared his company's "Chica Boom" series in 2000, there were plenty of skeptics at non-Latino adult film companies who doubted that Latina-themed erotica could work in the English-Language market. But Karlis proved the skeptics wrong - and in April, the "Chica Boom" series (which Kulkis described as a consistently great seller) was up to 36 titles. The series proved to be quite influential in the San Fernando Valley, and many English-oriented companies have since launched well-known Latin lines (for example, gonzo porn giant Red Light District's "Young Tight Latinas"series).


American webmaster/photographer Pacino, who founded Latin Teen Cash in 2005, explained that total fluency in Spanish isn't necessary if an adult entrepreneur is making Latin-themed erotica in the U.S. However, he encourages anyone who plans to work with erotic talent in Central or South America to at least know some basic Spanish or Portuguese. All of Latin Teen Cash's content has been made in South American countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador, and he has found that Latin America's erotic models definitely appreciate it when American entrepreneurs show some knowledge of their language and culture.
" Before you head to Latin America with all your high-tech equipment, at least get some conversational Spanish down, or some Portuguese if you are headed to Brazil," Pacino advised. Also having a contact from the area where you plan to shoot would be a great asset," Pacino said. " Show them respect, and you will see results, I spent more than three years on the street learning the language and getting to know their culture. Now it's paying off for me. Unlike not too long ago, today you can find tons of Latin-themed productions and websites. Latin hotties are everywhere, and I love it."

Well my take on the artical is simple.

These girls that model and "Make up" themselves, all do so to be as acceptable to a wide range of folks as possible. Every single girl for example strives to have the features of what is attractive to a man. It's thier job on the set and as an entertainer.
Whether she is Latin, Black, White, Asian.
Doesnt matter to me as a photographer really. A girl has it or she does not.

As hard as I look and review who we will shoot next I am not shooting what thier race is and making an assumption that race alone will sell a picture, I am looking for beauty, the best I can find. I have no interest in racial attributes. If she is hot she is hot and she is what it she is.

Is Latin a Land Rush field? Sure it is and XBIZ is just a bit to late in realising it, Latin DVD's have been top sellers for years now, any smart cookie can watch DVD sales and trends that AVN reports regularly. It is really insiteful shit to get a ride on whats rising and falling niche wise.

However as usual another 200 million Latin sites are gonna suddenly open up and most are not going to have a clue to what "Latin" is.
Much like myself perhaps? I just like pretty girls.

At least XBIZ interviewed a couple folks that know, and god knows I would never clue folks in on what is truly working for me.

So what is Latin?
I dated this Argentinian Girl, Blond Hair BLue Eyes in Santa Barbara...

We were riding on the bus one day and some girls on the bus clowned her in spanish about being blond and blue eyed. She spun around and bitched them out in total 100% fluent spanish, neck swinging and slang. I was kinda shocked myself and thats when I learned that her family though ya would never know it spoke only spanish at home and had a very strong Argentinian heritage.

The girls in the bus we totally stunned needless to say.

A lot of latinas look white. Have you ever watched a spanish soap opera? They all have blond hair and blue eyes.

I actually did some research about this and found out that in latina countries like Mexico, it's more "Desirable" to look white. The whitest/palest people are usually the most richest and successful, they are more likely to be descendants of the spanish invadors.

While the natives are more dark and sometimes even discriminated against because of their color. A lot of hispanic people like to look as "spanish" as possible and even dye their skin with bleach/wear contacts.

There's even big controversy why there are no dark/native looking people on tv, the actors/actresses are all very white looking, because that is what they consider attractive and a sign of wealth/high class.

In brazil the whiter people are more upper class and descendants from Spain. Darker skinned people tend to be poor and live in the ghettos and you will never see them on tv.

I also read there's a lot of racism in latin america against darker latinas, a lot of people want to look as white as possible, since that tends to give them more opportunites/jobs.

There was a big controversy when some darker guy from Indian descent won a singing contest similar to American Idol on Mexican tv, it was the first time someone dark and not white looking won a contest like that.

I also read that latin social climbers like to marry white or European women to make their lineage "whiter".

I'm pretty sure some latinas can bleach their skin, get contacts and dye their hair to look more whiter since to a lot of latinas (from what I read) is considered more attractive.
