Coca Cola . . . reverse discrimination?
Many years ago, before most of you were born, Coca Cola was subjected to a boycott because they spent an inordinate amount of money supporting the NAACP and the UNCF. A search of Google indicates that this is probably still going on (the support and the boycott). I never really paid much heed to it as I don't like Coke anyway. Today I noticed something that made me wonder.
I went to the annual street fair in Hermosa Beach (very white) and they were giving away bottles of Coke Blak at a couple different booths. The girls giving it away were black. Later on I noticed a Coke Blak truck on the freeway, again, driven by a black guy. Is Coke using only blacks to promote this product because the name is Coke Blak, or is it just coincidence? |
Probably, anything to get people to hate each other more than they already do. There is a lot of this racist crap going on these days. Divide and Conquer!

Who cares, have you tried that stuff? It tastes like motor oil.

Another random 'Coke' fact - they turned Santa red! Its true - he traditionally used to wear dark green, but 'Coke' turned him red for advertising and it stuck!!!

I tried it . . . it was better than regular Coke and any motor oil that I have ever tasted.
|
never have try it.

In My Opinion That Shit Is Like "crack" I Have Tried So Many Times To Quit Drinking That Shit By Some How They Keep Getting Me To Come Back. I Think That They Will Use Any Marketing Technique To Keep The Coke Flowing Through Our Bodies.

2hpInteresting. I have not seen any seen any Coke Blak marketing, nor do I have any familiarity with the product. Hot black chicks giving out samples... maybe. Black guys driving Coke Blak trucks... harder to conceive, unless it's related to internal hiring policies and corrdination with HR and maybe some community-level PR work. Is Coke Blak in any way a "for-the-African-American-community" product? Is there any connection, other than the "name"? Lots of companies tailor their marketing to specific demographics (like McDonalds), but this would be the first time they went so far as to name it that way. "Coca Cola Arriba, Arriba"...anyone? How's about "Coke Vey" ? -- :1orglaugh |

That is a good habit, not a bad one. You can tell a lot about what is happening in your engine by tasting the oil. |
BY THE WAY WTF IS "COKE Blak" ANYWAY? I HAVE NEVER HEARD OR SEE THIS SHIT.
|
A new product. Coke seems to introduce their new stuff at the Fiesta Hermosa. I forget what they had last year, guess it didn't make much of an impression.

i hope this thread is a joke. figuring 99% of spokemodels are usually white. So i guess Vanilla coke and the white models pushing it would be some sort of discrimination?
oh well....looking beyond the stupidity....I love Hermosa Beach. |
lol, yes.. its a big conspiracy because you saw two black people working for coca cola in relation to their new product which is called Black because of the coffee essence. Thats hilarious :1orglaugh

Although it more than likely is just coincidence since I have seen coke blak trucks driven by whites in my area. It is not discrimination nor reverse discrimination if a company targets a given racial market and uses people of that race to consult, market, and be at the fore front of the campaign. That is just straight out targeted marketing.
Early on in the cola wars when Pepsi was by all accounts fucked due to the monopoly Coca Cola had in the armed forces, Coca Cola dominated the marketplace. Pepsi's only recourse and salvation was to go out on a limb and target their cola to the young free loving crowds and demonize Coca Cola as what their parents and grandparents drank. They only used young people, fringe style advertising with hippies and the like and a few years latter they did the unheard of. They surpassed Coca Cola in market share. Coca Cola of course who was in panic mode did the unthinkable which almost lead to suicide and changed the formula, oddly enough bringing back the old coke restored their dominate market share. Yet I digress, was Pepsi doing age discrimination or just legal targeted advertising? |

Hmm, I didnt know about the boycott. But I really dispise the NAACP. I think I will start sucking down less coke as soon as I verify your statements. |
