help me, gfy - my lady has a stalker
 

Not actually my lady, but rather a woman on a forum I own. This guy has gone as far as building a site around her, posted pictures of her on it, photoshopped said images to draw attention to a mole she has (kind of funny, since it's so trivial and childish, but annoying just the same :P), and is constantly harrassing her. He messages her on myspace, my forum, sends her emails from various addresses (so she can't block them), etc... it's starting to fuck with her pretty bad.

Obviously, the best thing to do is ignore him, but I also want to help her get the images removed from his site. I am under the impression that since she took the pictures, she is the copyright owner, and as such can have him served and legally force him to remove the images, but I don't know how to go about it.

I'd like to handle this with as little work on her part as possible, i.e. I don't want to tell her to go to the police department, fill out a report, then go to court for a restraining order, etc etc... I just want to serve the dickweed with some papers and let him know I'm not going to play with his punk ass. How do I go about this in the most efficient way possible?

send a C&D to his host....

Phone the cops..but they probably won't do anything

Send an email to the host.

can you post some pics so we can see what she looks like? this will help us devise a plan.

Get a restraining order. It sounds like that's the most you can do at this point. If he violates the restraining order you can press charges. Litigation is too expensive and doesn't sound like she'd win

As far as taking down even copyrighted material good luck I have my shit stolen and used all the time and just because I notify them and send out all those emails to their host and all the other places it doesnt mean they will take it down.Sometimes it works out but more often than not I wind up giving up.

There are examples that you can use for a C&D, you send one to him to scare him, and you send one to his host (hosts usually dont put up with legal issues so they will most likely take the content off right away or suspend him altogether)

I have no idea how well it works... but this is SUPPOSED TO lead to his registar slapping him around or siezing his domain

If its just some girl you know that comes to your forum, Why don't you let her deal with it?

Depending on where you're located calling the cops will be about as useful as doing nothing!
I had a similar situation with a guy last year ... he scared the shit out of me ! I called the police over here in the UK, and they told me a policeman would be around the following day to speak with me. The following day no policeman showed up, so I phoned the station only to be informed that they had changed their mind about visiting me. (obviously also forgot how to work a phone and let me know) They basically told me to sod off ! To start any kind of proceedings yourself, or herself.... You will need a static address! To kick shit out of him you will also need an address. If you opt for the latter and you say whois gives you false information... do make sure you get the right address before you turn up with your baseball bat. :1orglaugh
