Is a 6 month chargeback a bad thing?
way back i bought some software, but it still hasnt worked and is still full of bugs with no updates on patches.
i am hitting the 6 month mark within a few days and since i didnt/couldnt use this software, i really want my money back how should i approach this? i am aware that i am hitting the 6 month mark which is significant. |
I thought you can't charge back after 3 months?

I charged back 8 months for a UPS i bought from some company that was apparantly scamming people. I guess the bank may have just given me leeway since it was a known scam site.

How would you feel if a surfer charged back after 6 months?

You shouldn't have waited 6 months IMO

but then again, they shouldnt be making software that doesnt work. They even promise to install it. but then it still doesnt work. |
6 months too long, i think.
|
if you feel you didnt get $600 worth of use out of it, charge it back.
|
Have you asked for a refund? It's possible they may rather give you one than have a big chargeback.
|
yes it is
|
All depends on if it was what it proported to be.

One or maybe two month should be plenty of time to figure out if you actually received what you paid for. Even thinking of charging back after 6 months is pretty pathetic in my opinion.

Read the back of your credit card statement for charge back info.
I think you can only charge back less than 60 days unless it's a porn site, in which case, you have 2 years to charge back /sarcasm |
If the software doesn't work why not ask them for a refund first?
