Yep.

I cannot conceive of a personal God who would directly influence the actions of individuals, or would directly sit in judgment on creatures of his own creation. I cannot do this in spite of the fact that mechanistic causality has, to a certain extent, been placed in doubt by modern science. My religiosity consists in a humble admiratation of the infinitely superior spirit that reveals itself in the little that we, with our weak and transitory understanding, can comprehend of reality. Morality is of the highest importance -- but for us, not for God --Albert Einstein The Human Side, 1954

Yes, I believe in God - there are many reasons behind it.

Why do people feel on this board feel the need to bash the religion of others? Yes I'm aware of the extremist right wing Christian nutjobs, but people who continually bash others beliefs are just as closed minded.

GatorB 05-27-2006 05:28 PM

Nope. Why should God more likely exist more than say Zeus, Odin, Ra or Santa Claus for that matter?

Fuck God

Ok someone who belives in god I am 100% sure their parents believed in god and their parants and so on and so on going on hundreds of years or more. Why ismost of Inida, Hindu or most of the middle east Muslim? It is what society has taught them to believe. It take a different kind of person to go against what the overwhelming vast majority believes no matter what persecution they might face because of it.

I think everyone has their own personal way of analyzing the world and coming to their own conclusion. It is a factor of many different things in the world. Such as: our own mortality, do we believe science is the ONLY explanation for us being here, spiritual moments (both good and bad), other people's experiences and mortality that you hear about, things you see (things you don't see), and other things as well. It comes down to what you yourself believe.

I can understand an atheist's point of view as well. That is why we are all different. And I also respect everyone's religious choices, whether I agree or not. Faith and spirtuality is individually driven.

I've never understood how God could expect His creatures to pick the one true religion by faith;it strikes me as a sloppy way to run a universe.

History does not record anywhere a religion that has any rational basis. Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the unknown without help.

Jesus freaks would simply say "God has always existed". Couldn't you use the same logic with the universe?

VicD 05-27-2006 06:31 PM
