The first 4 were great but went downhill quick without Mahoney in 5,6,7.

Personally i love them. 7 though was shite. I never watch that one. But i can quite happily watch the rest.

1 & 4 are my faves. Liked 5 aswell.

Sucks Tackleberry has died... :(

Turns out they are producing a Police Academy movie to be released next year. All the original cast is in it but I didnt see Tack'... looked him up on imdb and sure nuff:

I think Police Squad! episodes with Leslie Nielsen were ten times funnier :)

There was a history of heart trouble in his family and he died of a heart attack 9 days short of his 51st birthday. His father and grandfather also died of sudden heart attacks at age 51.

Really you didn't know that? He had a heart attack at his friend's wedding. At the time the 1st Police Academy movie was out his sister was a teacher at my middle school. I mean I was in high school by 1984, but I attended that middle school a year earlier.

If you read this thread, you would see a few people werent up on his death news.

Remember Mahoney getting the crane operator to lift the port-a-potty, with Proctor inside, into the stadium full of people. Than they unhooked the outside of it so Proctor was sitting on the shitter on the 50 yd line....

I saw the first three POLICE ACADEMY movies at the cinema when they originally came out. Don't think I saw any beyond that.

Anyone ever see "Cheech And Chong's Nice Dreams"? The Larvell Jones character was in that. He did all the mimicking with his voice in PA. In 'NIce Dreams' he mimicked Jimi Hendrix. I couldn't stop laughing at that part.
