transferring domains HELP PLEASE
 

I have 4 domains that are expiring today
with dotster


I use 1and1.com for everything now
I added all of the domains to transfer to 1and1

I clicked the link that 1and1 gave me
and it seems like it's in limbo

it did mention that the domains were locked

I unlocked the domains prior to clicking some of the links in the email
but the original submission done on 1and1 website to do the transfer
was done before I made sure they were unlocked.


Basically expiration date with 4 of them with dotster is today

I don't want to get screwed on the expiration and dotster

with them stuck in limbo and lose the domains or have to pay
some crazy price to get them back

How can I protect myself here?

No problems, if you clicked the email BEFORE expire, you gonne get it

renew them with dotster not to assure that they arent going anywhere, then start the transfer.

the 1st thing you need to do is log in and unlock your domains. they can not be moved in the locked state.

OK I am trying to renew with dotster
then I would want to go with 1and1

I guess we are talking really up to 10+ domains here
I'd rather pay $5.99 a domain than the $14.95 dotster was charging


If i renew with dotster right now
and then transfer to 1and1
do I have to pay $5.99 so essentially paying 14.95 + 5.99 for a domain?

If you renew, you will be paying again for the transfer but it will add another year time to reg fee, so 2 years you'll be good...

if you renew you can't transfer for another 30 days

1and1 sucks balls, btw you have to unlock your domain before the transfer
