how are sales coming along for you guys?

personally i never noticed summer to have a great effect on sales. it seems to be a time when the hot weather is calling... its just too tempting to ditch the computer and go jump in the pool.

however, THIS year i think i'm starting to see a drop in sales. traffic is stable as ever, the fish are in the water but they're just not taking the bait. working harder than ever, my sales ratios are slipping. maybe its just a bad month, maybe its all down to exams and graduations, people preparing for summer vacations... i suppose there are many factors as always. but for sure, i've never had a 1:4000+ ratio ever before as i'm seeing this month. its definately a bad time. with luck, fresh ideas and new contacts will contribute to getting me out of this shithole.

the end two weeks of march were excellent, sales ratios were awesome. i'm not one to rely too much on sponsor-provided conversion ratios, but the end of march was just as good as the last week of 2001, although the first week of 2002 sucked pretty bad.

its always important to outsmart the competition... there has to be room for new ideas out there. there are always new ideas... but who is smart enough to get to them first? innovation surely is the key. even a new type of banner design or full page ad technique could be the ticket to riches this summer. its always a good time to brainstorm but as competition grows, the ability to network and generate new ideas (even small ones) has never been as important as it is now.

anyway -- sales. how about you guys, are sales slowing or dropping for you?

i checked my records for the last 3 years,,, May seems to always be the lowest month

SteveLightspeed 05-22-2002 11:57 PM

Not really sure about May being so bad -- we are having a blowout month. Had 5 record days so far this month.

Keep working, people are buying, just not the same ol shit -- try something new

ive noticed my iBill sponsors are struggling this month

Paul Markham 05-23-2002 07:26 AM

This month is just like the last two, very good can't put up the content fast enough.

But next week the world cup (soccer) starts and it will be very interesting to see how this effects sales.

TheFLY 05-23-2002 07:53 AM

I've actually seen an increase in sales this month... So much for the summer slowdown. The day before yesterday was a record day for me...
