Epassporte - what a complete joke!

Why didn't listen? I've seen posts on here before about account problems and others warning that you shouldn't leave any balance on your epassporte at all. But did I listen? Nah, of course not and now I'm getting royally stuffed too.

I jumped through all there ID verification hoops as the balance went through $5k, and then a week later I jumped through the same hoops again without protest as I requested an ATM withdrawl increase.

After the balance hit $10k I tried to start taking money out via the ATMs and it worked a few times over a couple of days but soon got the 'not authorised by issuing bank message'

Not worrying about it too much I phoned their support to be told there was a techincal issue and that she would have to raise a ticket with the techincal dept. to get it fixed. (ticket 57611 if anyone is watching)

8 days later the card is still not working and I still can't get at MY money, I phoned support again to check on progress, but get some scripted bollocks about it being looked into and they expect a fix by the middle of next week, that'll be almost 2 weeks without access to MY money, assuming its even fixed then.

For christs sake, 10 days for a technical fault WTF?!? Its an ATM card not a fucking linux box!

Anyway, if you've got cash in your epassporte account don't do what I did and leave it in there, don't just assume that ticking all their security boxes will ensure all your account runs smoothly. Problems occur wth all cards and with every bank, the difference being that all the others are setup to deal with those problems in a timely fashion, Epassporte is clearly not.

Shit happens, and normally when you need it least :disgust

I'm fine with that, that's what all finance companies do with our money, they leverage it, I would expect nothing less, its business after all, just give me it back when I need it.

Or better still put some procedures in place that allow you to deal with the inevitable problems properly. Do they even now what escalation means? I'm not expecting perfection just a reasonable fix when it breaks. Stealing my money for 10 days is not reasonable imho.

Anyway if that's their business model they're fucked, becuase over time everyone will stop leaving any balance on the cards (assuming I ever get my hands on my money its out of there!). People will just start using them for transactional purposes only and I imagine that's where their margins are the smallest after Visa fees et al.

Oh and when the outsourcing contract runs out on the current call centre I'd think about shopping around for another.

Oh so true, any other company with same client support would hit bankruptcy within its first year. Time for a competitor that whip there ass :Kissmy

Epassporte is not a bank. It's your fault.

MoreMagic 05-26-2006 08:28 AM

I thought I'd made both those points abudantly clear in my initial post, but thanks again. :bowdown

Change your pin number in your account then try again. I had that issue last week. They got it fixed though, after a couple of days.
