Electronic Slavery at your grocery store?
 

Does your grocery store give discounts only if you fill out a form and get a "membership card"? Mine does and I hate it for this reason:

Where is the guarantee that the store doesn't sell a list of names and addresses of everyone that bought a cartoon of smokes every week for the last year to the health insurance companies?

If I owned a health insurance company a list like that would be worth 100's of 1000's of dollars since I could save on claims by turning these people down for coverage since they are at high risk of cancer.

Plus, they can track everything you buy for any reason they make up.
Is this electronic slavery that we volunteer for?

then pay full price, christ its optional, it isnt like they are forcing you to take advantage of sales and shit. there is no such thing as a free lunch, information is a valuable commodity, thats why they pay you for surveys and shit.

If I don't want to fill it out then they don't want to give a discount so I fill in bullshit and tore it up anyway just to spite them.

Further, what if you fill out bullshit and they later figure a way to say you defrauded them with fake info and should be considered a liar(you know, like when you are a witness in the OJ trail...ala Kathleen Bell):1orglaugh

ding ding ding, exactly. I always use bogus info on things like that, just in case, but I dont go around wearing a tinfoil hat because I think the government is tracking my grocery habits =/

I never get those, then when I shop, at the checkout I pretend I left mine at home, and either ask the person behind me to borrow theirs or I just ask the cashier...

That's what I do also but this time(first time ever in many years) the cashier was like "NO!" so I asked for a manager and he was like "NO!" So I fucked them around on the form and got what I wanted anyway. I tore up the form just so they would see that I fucked them.

Why did I do it? Because their "discount" price is only the regular price in the other stores which I have to drive through heavy traffic to get too.

I live in Hawaii and it's another example of "big corp America" saying "fuck you...where else you gonna go...you're on an island"...well fuck them, we deserve fair prices like the rest of America and it's not like they even spend more money to supply us they just want more money because they think we are trapped on a rock.
