how do you spend $30/day on starbucks? :error

SleazyDream 05-25-2006 11:03 PM

i'm kinda just entering a cheap phase myself.

weird -

i have a luxery car - perfer driving my $3000 1/2 truck these days.

I have a luxery 3000+sq foot house in the city - last 2 weeks I've been at my cottage - it's a simple home, little over 1000sq feet - and I'm happy here and dont' wana go abck to the big one.

happier eating at home than a restruant now. and constntly looking for real estate investment opportunities. cut a few deals recently without any money - trading stuff I have for better long term investment purposes.

fuck last few flights didn't even care if I had first class or not. stopped booking suites - just get regular rooms.

i'm more about piling up money now - and investing it. I look at what everyone else does and then kinda do my own thing - much like business. might take me longer to figgure things out but i usually get it in the end....

In 1989 our home in Queens burned down, which was of course initially a terrible thing. But we had pretty good insurance, and got a big fat check. My mom gave me like $10,000 to "replace my things". I bought a stereo. Only a stereo -- lol.

Once I got into this biz I had to give up my cushy union benefits package, long term disability, dental plan, retirement plan, etc. I began investing every spare dime I made, and to this day have actually lived far BELOW my means in order to ensure my future through sound investments.

But I'm rapidly approaching where it's time to let the fuck loose and live a little,

100% negro style.

pstation 05-25-2006 11:13 PM

I used to have the same problem, i felt sick doing my taxes looking at all the dumb shit i wasted money on. Now, i just pay myself $1,500 a month to live off of and save/re-invest the rest.

soulboy 05-25-2006 11:15 PM

invest in real state

Thurbs 05-25-2006 11:19 PM

J$tyle$ 05-25-2006 11:24 PM

First started when i was a teenager and an organic vegitation supplier. :winkwink:

Walking around with 2 - 3K in my pocket and blowin' it as fast as I made it.

:error

Then again back in the late 90's when I first started seeing 6 figure + pay checks ... I'd get a 30K commission check and BAM ... partying every weekend ... limos, chicks, booze, clubs!

:error :error

Now I don't live like that - I've reigned in the bad habits ... I've got responsibility to others ... house, cars, private school for the kids - full time nanny!!!

... i think now I'm wigger rich! :1orglaugh

:winkwink:

SleazyDream 05-25-2006 11:25 PM

exactly with the exception of what I pay myself per month.
10% off the top for my savings, then my "wage".
The rest goes to my kids and Harper.
:2 cents: :)

SmutGiant 05-25-2006 11:27 PM

Thinking back, I honestly don't know how somebody so stupid stumbled across so much money at that time. Had I done things differently, I would probably have a lot more money than I do now... but I'm actually REALLY glad things didnt end up working out! This allowed me to really open up my mind to bigger and better things. This past year has been very enlightening.

xNetworx 05-25-2006 11:29 PM

I bought a BMW 330ci when I was 20... that was kinda n.r. behavior at the time. I lived in a college apartment.

Can you afford to loan your best friend $200 bucks and never see it again?

If not, it's a very bad thing.

Fuck, I thought I was the only one who realized having a viper as my daily driver and no investments was stupid. Plus the partying, goddamn, thank God I've cleaned up.

Now its' about the Rothman, CD's, moneymarkets and college funds.

Been thinking of some travelling, might see you down there sometime soon Roger. :)
