For some reason they are linked in my mind with GIB. Of course I don't get checks from them so I could be wrong...
|
niteline media and GIB are two different companies.
Niteline runs the niteline dialer. Remember? The one with the problems in the CONGO. And GIB is the one that is bankrupt. |
Niteline is dialers.
FYI, they used to be in the Phone Sex business - failed, and cancelled their affiliate program. Brad |

Brad is right. Niteline was formally in audiotext.
Furthermore when they did go into dialers, they were probably one of the most dishonest companies in the dialer business. |
Niteline made mistakes around 1997 because they started the dialer. They invented it. Without them, someone else would have made the mistakes. The dialers, the rules, the FTC mandates, etc... of today were all shaped from the trials and tribulations of Niteline's first dialer experiences.
To say they are simply a dishonest company is not looking at the facts. Since 1997, Niteline has paid every two weeks without delay. The one problem they had was with the USA/Congo route which was a very unfortunate experience for them. They were screwed by the telco handling the calls. No callers were ever billed, hence, no money was collected, hence webmasters were unable to be paid for those calls. Niteline hasn't even been able to get their servers back as they are hidden in the jungle somewhere! As Niteline moves forward in this very risky and tough dialer climate, the focus has been shifted to international. The goal is to continue to provide the strongest, most reliable international routes available. USA is all but dead in the eyes of the dialer companies. Anyone that tells you that it's alive and kicking is just holding their breath and biding their time. As we've seen with the current fallout of the 900 number for domestic call billing, the risks are high. Everyone needs to understand that in due time, there will be no available USA solution, at least not one that is as rewarding as we have become used to. Webmasters need to begin to learn how to properly filter their traffic. That is the future. Send your USA surfers to a credit card and filter international to a dialer. There are many methods of doing this, but the only surefire way is through IP detection which is quite difficult. This is what webmasters should begin to learn how to do to make the most of their surfers and their money, IMHO. marc www.sextraveler.com |

Marc,
Stop spouting bullshit. Niteline did not invent the dialer. You guys did invent a silent auto dialing piece of scamware, I'll give you that, but the FTC quickly killed that little venture. We all know you're Ron Tan's employee and will do whatever it takes to place Niteline in a positive light. 900 fallout? Hardly. Even when AT&T stopped billing for 900, there were still other billers like Integretel that were more than happy to bill for 900. Our 900 based route for our dialers is doing great, although the 90 day delay for payments is a pain. The Congo route, which used an illegal billing method by using a toll free number to bill customers $5.99 per minute for an International call to Congo was a JOKE! Your "biller" never had any agreements with the LECs so no one got billed! That kinda thing didn't happen in the so called "900 number fallout" now did it? U.S.A is all but dead? Maybe for you guys since your Guyanna route is another joke. In our beta tests we're pushing plenty of U.S. minutes with our Integretel billed 900 numbers, and getting paid by them. Yes I realize the FTC is investigating dialers under a microscope. Worst comes to worst we'll have to make the font size for the price a few points larger if the FTC requires it. In our trial runs, we noticed a minimal decrease in minutes with such a disclaimer, and we'll cut our scrubbing down to even things out. |
