---man investigated for selling cheerleader videos on ebay---

http://www.nbc4.tv/news/9270716/detail.html

What would you do if you discovered someone was videotaping your child in a suggestive manner in a public place and then selling that tape on the Internet?

Channel 4 News investigative reporter Ana Garcia has uncovered an operation that targeted high school cheerleaders without their knowledge.

ANA GARCIA: He goes unnoticed sitting in the stands with a video camera among the family and friends of the local high school football team, the band and the cheerleaders.

But he, or maybe she, is taping just one thing: the cheerleaders-- focusing on their mouths, breasts and crotches, freezing shots under their skirts, during kicks or splits. Tapes sold on Ebay as "hot cheerleader videos" going for upwards of $70 each.....

I'm guessing this goes on alot.

It's just that he happens to be caught selling it on ebay...

Umm donning flame suit.

I know this is a bit perverted and all. We are however talking about high school cheerleaders who are being filmed in public doing the same thing everyone else that is present can view. The parents know their routines and the school and parents know what sort of outfit the high school girls are wearing. So I am sort of missing the outrage part. I would be a lot more understanding of course if this was regarding elementary kids or something but we are talking about high school cheerleaders.

pocketkangaroo 05-25-2006 12:20 PM

Yeah, you can flame me too....

But it's something being video taped in public. If people don't want their high school daughters cleavage, panties and whatever else shown on tapes, they shouldn't do it in public. There should be no expectation of privacy in a public place like that. I think the issue is more about what the girls are wearing rather than the guy video taping it.

JD 05-25-2006 12:23 PM

immoral, yes. illegal, no

SweetJeanette 05-25-2006 12:25 PM

Yeah, the cheerleaders act like they don't know that thier outfits and routines/dance moves are sexually explicit. It's ok with them that they make a high school boy hot and heavy, but get in a big uproar when they notice that other's are seeing them that way?
Don't get me wrong, it's sick and disgusting. But the girls are playing so innocent, and that's BS!

Id be worried that my child was doing suggestive things that could be videotaped in the first place. I honestly cant believe any parent lets their girl cheerlead.

Its basically a non-nude porn show for all the highschool boys, and an excuse for these little sluts to show off their bodies and up their skirts.

More importantly I demand a link to the auction on ebay... for research... yeah..

madawgz 05-25-2006 12:33 PM

thats fucked up!

FelixFlow 05-25-2006 12:40 PM

some good points made in this thread!

What is the difference in what this guy is doing and recording one of the cheerleading competitions that ESPN has on a few times per month. You could easly record those shows burn them to dvd and sell them on ebay and market it the same way.

Whats the difference, i dont think there is any if at all.

Excluding the ESPN copyright.

Andrew Carnegie 05-25-2006 02:07 PM

Why sell it on ebay? Make a paysite out of the content.

Steve has the resources to hire the best legal defense - he'll beat this rap!

NTSS 05-25-2006 02:13 PM

What a dumb fuck!

If my daughter was one of the girls...he wouldn't be taping shit else...you can put all your money down on that one.

This is correct.

Where he COULD potentially run into trouble is if he was using images of ANY of the girls in question in an advertising fashion without them signing a model release. That he would need their permission for.
