Gas prices & "hurricane speculation"
 

I love the latest euphemism handed to us for the sudden jump in prices at the pumps today (locally they went up .05cents/litre).

How does the gas industry explain this (drumroll)......they call it "hurricane speculation."

That's right.

The hurricanes haven't even begun to touch the gas refineries...and already they're gouging us at the pumps based on speculation and forecasts.

Fuckin' bastards.

Following up with this - the goddamn .05-cent price hike was only a 12-hour spike........then it went down again the next morning by .05 cents/litre.

Meanwhile, the wife and I fueled both our vehicles at the higher price thinkin' it was the start of a larger hike.

And then drove by the station yesterday and saw it'd gone back down.

Fuckin' gougers.
