Detecting Hitbotters
I just put the option to add your site on my tgp for trading, and i was wondering what you can do to tell if someone has a hitbot if you suspect that they might be hitbotting you?
|
use a traffic trade script that can detects proxies like the latest version of ucj
i'm upgrading to it soon, i've been sayin that for a month now heh |
right now im using rb4 and it probably has this, will it alert you if it finds them?
|
you'd have to check with the person who made the script.
hitbots are a major pain in the ass. :BangBang: |

yes Jesus Hitbot has 5 levels.
So your trades will also be hitbotted and they will give you real traffic in return! Its almost like you own the hitbot your self when you get hit by a site with a Jesus Hitbot! Everybody Wins! |
does jesus hitbot also sign up for paysites?

The demo of jesus hitbot is killer!!! I love the fact that it doesn't use proxies

On a more serious note... A good hitbotter can fool just about any software.
Rb4 does not detect proxies. You might invest in some software that does. It will help. Rb4 does show you repeting IP's. That will help too. The best defense IMO is the human element. Know your traffic. Watch how it fluxuates during different hours of the day. Watch what it does on weekends. A bot isnt human, and makes mistakes. Add some hidden links throughout you page. Label your links too, and watch what is being clicked on...this will help you see the traffic flow of your visitors. Most likley, somebody is not going to hitbot a brand new site with little traffic. Once you site gets established though... I would turn off your autosignup. Autosignups are a thing of the past. If it's not a hitbotter signing up.. it's 10 Russian CP, CJ sites signing up in the middle of the night. (yes Russian) Best to have people contact you first on ICQ before trading. IMO |
most people also forget that there's two variables with ip address: HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR behind a standard proxy server (their real ip, if they're using a proxy) and the good old REMOTE_ADDR, which will report the proxy server only.
best idea is to check if the first is set, if not, use REMOTE_ADDR. |
Are you guys joking? What's the urls or rb4 and Jesus Hitbot?
|
you could catch some by putting a number of links on your page
which are not visible....either between html comments or just no text with it....then track which people "click" those links.by logging the info including referrer to a logfile....the referrers that you will get you can blacklist and block it in .htaccess Hitbot scripts usually scrape the page for links and randomly click them....invisible links will catch those DynaMite :2 cents: |
