...to add a feature that would enable us to put an entire thread on 'ignore' based on the person who starts the thread? So that it doesn't show up in the main directory at all.

Would be nice to effectively remove threads started by the likes of Nofx and Kandah (among a few others).

but you would miss 1/2 of the entertainment value

Some types of entertainment can be lived without....not counting mudwrestling and underwater chess.
