wtf is up with moniker's 4 day grace period BS

wtf, i need my domain up and now moniker is telling me i have four days to rethink my purchase? so in the meantime they will display their ads on MY domain that I paid for to use for MY commercial gain.

if i bought a domain its because i want the domain RIGHT NOW and not four days later.

now i gotta wait for the support to come on during business hours.

can i have this turned off NOW?!

LiveDose 05-23-2006 10:38 PM

Say what? :helpme

You can just go and change the DNS. 4 day grace period is if you don't like it and want to delete it. You can use it right after registering.

DigitalPimp 05-23-2006 10:42 PM

nevermind, see linguist's post above

i was going to use them.. transfer something like 200 domains to them then i found out they were a force behind .xxx
so needless to say i stuck with direct nic.

I really like that feature. Sometimes I register domains solely for type in traffic and it gives me a few days to see what kind of traffic it generates. Something like a typo that would otherwise be worthless.

It can take up to 48 hours for DNS to propogate. Moniker seems to take a little longer than other registrars I've used like GoDaddy. Nonetheless, it should be showing soon.

yep, just happened to me... i was pissed to say the least. but i must say that after i complained they had the issue resolved within 12 hours....

I use GANDI and so long as I change the DNS from their own servers to mine before I actually use the domain (so the records are not cached anywhere) the change is virtually instant. I've had a new TGP up and trading about 45 mins after I registered the domain.
