I think your right .. it may take a jump out of the box but then will crash ... they have a lot of debt and non of the big institutions have any interest. That's not a good sign..:2 cents:

for the record i passed on the shares ....

Ycaza 05-23-2006 08:00 PM

The stock is a dog.

Those of you that didnt get any should be counting your blessings.

The cable companies will own the VOIP market, there is no room for indie providers like Vonage, they simply cannot compete. Skype is offering VOIP services for $0. As for the cable companies, people like the convenience of a single bill for internet, cable and phone. Plus, the cable companies offer pretty good discounts for bundled services.

vonage is cheaper then the cable VOIP.

who cares about a bill bundle if the bill is 20 bucks more a month?

People do care. And if you factor in the cost savings when you bundle TV and internet, the difference disappears. Plus, with the cable companies, the man shows up in the truck and does everything for you. With companies like Vonage, you can't be a total moron because you have to install it yourself. There are lots of total morons out there.

Why would you invest in a company that has already stated "We may never become profitable"?

MikeVega 05-24-2006 12:34 PM

I told you guy ... hopefully it will pull back in the long run but i don't think it will ..:Oh crap

Forest 05-24-2006 01:13 PM

and with vonage dont you need to have a landline from a local provider as well as dsl service then pay vonage their fee?

If this is true then it sounds like the cable companies will have a much better pricing scheme then having to pay for 3 services

Screaming 05-24-2006 01:14 PM

if you got in at 17, you might want to consider selling while its at 14

Quagmire 05-24-2006 01:20 PM

Sure, throw some good money to these people who are running a complete dog of a company. Its losses are obscene and will stay that way until it pukes and dies.

Pornwolf 05-24-2006 01:31 PM

It's going to go to single digits. Sell now.

sweetcuties 05-24-2006 01:34 PM

Wasn't their CEO banned from Wall Street, lol.

I shouldn't talk shit, I own SIRI... that's def one of the worst POS stocks out there

Every red herring ever published says that.

To say I'm abit annoyed over vonage is an understatement. No quick pop like I hoped, but that's part of the game. I put in for what I could risk to lose.

Pete-KT 05-24-2006 02:39 PM

Im glad i passed on this one, I put in an offer but pulled it before they closed it, now im glad

After Shock Media 05-24-2006 02:43 PM

If you do buy shares, like even 1 does that get you off their damn telemarketing list?

If so I would buy 1 share just to have them stop bugging me.

No. With VoIP you don't need a land line at all. it's called Voice over INTERNET Protical. If you have internet through cable you certaily don't need to pay the local phone company anything. Charter has VoIP but it's $40. what a rip off. I can get Packet8 with tax and all for $23 total.

SomeCreep 05-24-2006 03:59 PM

sell sell sell

So how much oney have you lsot so far?

"NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Vonage Holdings Corp., the Internet telephone pioneer, dropped sharply in their trading debut Wednesday, dismaying customers who had been given a chance to participate in the initial public offering.

The shares closed at $14.85 on the New York Stock Exchange, down 12.6 percent from the offering price of $17 set late Tuesday."

minusonebit 05-24-2006 05:03 PM

I'd buy stock in Bre-X Minerals Ltd. before I'd buy stock in Vonage.
