I learnt to cook!
ok so due to sad lack of HOTWINGS in the UK I had to go out and buy a deep fat fryer and make my own.. I am pleased to report they came out very well the first batch.. but maybe a bit too hot like my fucking mouth is on fire but it is all good
|
OOOH yeah!!! I used to have one and I got VERY good at wings. The key is to get real ones and cut them though. The ones in the bag have no meat.
put a bunch of flour in a bag alone with cayenne pepper.. maybe some chili powder and cumin if you have it.. shake em up and fry them... My personal hot sauce recipe... melt a half cube of butter, half bottle of tobasco sauce, half a sqeezed lemon (don't overdo.. taste before you add more) and 7-10 shakes of worcestersire sauce. Perfect every time. God I'm hungry now. :helpme |
Oh ya know what's killer too? Go buy a salad shooter and blaze a few potatos through it and make your own chips. Salt them the minute they come out though. Add garlic pepper if you wanna get fancy.
Oh here's one more.. buy a can of artichoke bottoms.. and cut them up whatever size you want.. dip in flour, then heavy cream or egg whichever, then again in flour, grated parmesan, and some spice in there... fry.. Killer dip of choice.. YUMMMM Have fun with your new toy! |
Assuming you separated off the wing tip, cut the rest of the wing in two at the joint. Fried until skin was transparent. Then immediately tossed them in a large bowl that contained a mixture of 1/2 cup franks (or more) and 1/3 cup melted butter.

thanks for the tips I am gonna try them all in my quest for the perfect hotwing!
deep fat fryer is a cool toy I think I can make a batter mars bars in it like they do in scotland? |
Franks!! Yes that's the one. I was trying to think of which hot sauce was the best.. Franks is much better than tabasco.
