What an incredible machine. I still have a hard time believing how cool it is. The $2800 were well spent. |

I'm using a 12 iBook right now - its small as hell compared to my 21" dual monitors.... but it travels quite well

I've never been a big fan of macs, but damn those things are sexy! I'd buy one just to use it for web design

I think (even more now w/ intel under the hood) using macs nowaays is a preference only: In the pat you were definitely one or the other, now you just choose which OS / hardware you prefer. Until I can boot XP natively without OS/X on the system at all, I'll stick to windows machines :) |
replacement driver for trackpad: http://www.ragingmenace.com/software...ack/index.html
allows for all sorts of ninja moves, enables 'two buttons' etc etc etc |

You can download it on Microsofts website at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...omponents.mspx |

Yep I was just about to post that.. BootCamp works like a charm to run both MacOSX and WinXP :thumbsup

Shitty shot from my comfy position on the bed. Will post some brighter ones later. |
You running photoshop from rosetta? I am curious what the speed is like with non-native apps. My whole workflow is Photoshop and Final Cut, cant make the jump to the intel machine if there is a speed issue.

Excellent choice! :thumbsup

From what I read, there is an Intel native Photoshop compilation out already. No need for Rosetta anymore. Other than that, the apps that do run their PPC code on the emulator, don't seem to be slow at all. |
|
Overheating? Not really. Then again I haven't had it for long enough to give you a precise analysis... I'll have to work with it longer to see how it behaves under full load.

Supposedly they fixed the problems with heating and whining. I sure hope so. Mine is on it's way:
