Paysite Tip - The Value of Photo Editing
 

Well it's been a couple weeks since I threw out some tippage so here goes:

This one falls under the category of going the extra mile. It's simple, but usually goes ignored and that is what happens with a lot of the small things and they all can really add up to a good 10%-20% increase in your conversions. What I'm talking about here s to spend extra time cleaning up the photos you use on your tours. Whether it be floating cutout graphics or screen caps... clean off blemishes, make sure the color depth is good, etc. You don't want to make them look airbrushed but you want to make the models as hot as possible (except in the rare instances when you are going for a real deep home/amateur thing and even the sometimes subtle clean up is important).

I've even gone so far as to use a guy who does photo-editing where he alters the physical characteristics of the models and he's so damn good you cn't tell it's been done. He'll tuck in their waist a bit, bring out the breasts and hips and it's subtle but it's the difference between a customer saying "hey she's pretty hot" and "holy shit, now I'm horny!" The difference between the two usually makes you thirty bucks or so. =]

So when you're putting together your galleries and tours and such, go the extra mile... pick the BEST pictures and clean them up. If you really want to go balls out, even look into a photo editor to help you with that one pic which would just be perfect if her butt looked more rounded in it or her legs were a little longer, etc...

I am now a master at fixing red eye and cleaning up little blemishes. I think it makes a big difference.

I also heart the sharpen edges tool.

Hmmm... I shall try to get pictures of me taking a dump and post that instead. We may discover that I have a hidden sig in one of my turds.

Good tippage as always Mark - but unfortunately very few would follow your sage advice.

As one who has been post-editing every single pic that goes in to our updates since 1995...I'm all-too-familiar with how much work is involved in tweaking images. And most people are either incapable, lazy or apathetic to put that much time and effort in to making their product the best that it can be.

As much as it helps sell an image better - there's also pride in offering the highest quality product possible. Many in the industry sadly don't subscribe to that.

All images need some editing, unless as has been said you're going for the deep amateur stuff, the ones in the site and the ones outside.

Nothing can be more disappointing than seeing a tour of hot babes, images and videos to find after you paid $30 that was the best 10 scenes they have and the rest is crap.

Yup. It's that whole extra mile thing. It's what makes guys like Duke succeed this late in the game... they care so much about what they do that they go the extra step on every detail.

funny thing that you are talking about being a freeloader... i was asking a lot of people who have been online since the late 90's about you, asking if you have ever really achieved anything, or if you are all just smoke and mirrors... the consensus was that you were full of shit and no one was really sure what you have done besides a few tour designs here and there.

telling people to clean up images on tours is a tip? are you serious? all images require prepwork for design.

hey... here's a funny blast from the past... remember way back when -- probably 98' or so when you were selling tour designs based on interface style graphics that you were buying off the web at template download sites for 20.00?
